A piece of Michael Jackson’s legacy lives on at Beech Bend

Elvis Presley had the mansion called Graceland, Michael Jackson had the ranch called Neverland.  Two Kings of pop culture had their castles, each with their ways to entertain their owner.  Both met a relatively early demise through strikingly similar circumstances (as of this writing), and both live on through their music and through what they left behind.

Rollercoaster game announced for iPod Touch and iPhone

PC and mobile game maker Digital Chocolate has announced the release of 3D Rollercoaster Rush, an update to the original PC Flash and mobile phone-based Rollercoaster Rush game.

Made specifically for iPhone and iPod touch users, it features 3D graphics and “life-like” coaster physics, it features 40 unique tracks located all over the world, and includes a race mode for each track.  In addition, the game takes advantage of the iPhone/iPod Touch’s built-in accelerometer for its game play.

Beech Bend pays tribute to Michael Jackson through former Neverland ride

Despite Michael Jackson’s controversial life and his recent passing, Beech Bend Park in Bowling Green, KY has decided to open its doors to Michael Jackson fans on Sunday, June 27 from 5-7pm (Central Time).  During this time, complimentary rides on their Sea Dragon ride will be offered as a tribute to the King of Pop.

42 hospitalized after inhaling fumes at Holiday World

Lakeside’s Cyclone closed indefinitely

The Cyclone roller coaster at Lakeside Amusement Park in Denver has been closed, maybe for the rest of the summer.

The park’s spokeswoman, Connie Moore, said the park tried to spruce up the ride for its 70th anniversary, but maintenance fell behind schedule, closing the ride.

Son of Beast shut down amid investigation

Son of Beast at Kings Island has been shut down pending an investigation.

The wooden roller coaster was closed after a woman on June 16 said she was hurt on the ride on May 31. It was reported as an alleged head injury.

Kings Island reported it to the Ohio Department of Agriculture, the agency that oversees amusement park inspections.

Sentosa wins top award for 3rd consecutive year at Asian Attractions Awards

For the third year running, Singapore’s Island Resort – Sentosa – has won the much coveted award for the Large Attraction category at the IAAPA (International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions) Asian Attractions Expo 2009 at a ceremony held in Seoul, Korea.
