They are still working on the footers for X, and haven't done any supports or other vertical work at all yet. Right now their focus is on finishing up Deja-Vu. Once it is done, then you'll see the two cranes sitting at it move over and construction on X will start flying along at that point.

SFMM is a the best and worst of every park rolled into one. Love the rides, hate the crowds. As far as I know, X is way behind schedule, with footers still being poured. I'm thinking late LATE summer if we're lucky.

SFMM fan here. I heard from a reliable source that Vertical construction on X should start this next week. I have gone to the park 11 times so far this year and can't wait to ride Deja Vu.

I'm going to the park in mid June. Any suggestions on how to beat the crowds, and what day is the best day to go?

SFMM guy right here! I'm going there on June 3rd to ride DejaVu.

And BTW DejaVu is almost done. And X is just chugging along.

Oh and Griesh the best day to go is on a sunday,

Why Sunday I would think that it would be really busy on Sunday. At Kings Island it is normally very busy on Sundays.

Hey X2001, keep in mind you can be a fan and expect nothing but the best. One does not have to love everything a park does to be a fan

Hey, I'm a huge fan of SFMM, I love mostly everything about that park. However, anyone that's actually been to the park can tell you the problems the park has. Every park has their own set of problems though, so it's not like SFMM is any different. SFMM is a great park, but I much prefer SFMW for two reasons: Medusa and Roar. Plus it's a heckuva lot closer than SFMM. Peace.

I'm a big fan of SFMM, I like everything about the park. And as for X, vertical construction should begin when Deja Vu opens. Judging by how long the ride is X should be complete in 2 months if they start soon.

i love sfmm aswell and i think , especially this year the park is adressing a lot of there " so called" problems, starting with re-tracking Psyclone, fresh paint on Viper, Colossus, NinJA Trains, Batmans rehab, i have no idea what they have done, it runs better than when it opend in '94, lots of paint all over the park, we getting some descent food with Panda Express, landscaping is outstanding .... so , give the park some slag(spell??)!

The rehab on Ninja is great- as smooth as I think it's ever been. And you can see how much other work they've been doing.

Best days to go, bar none, is on Tuesday or Wednesday. And avoid the weekends like the plague!

dosnt matter what day u go. If u go any day between April and October, expect large crowds everyday.

An SFMM fan since the mid 70s, though I've now travelled enough to agree that it has its plusses and minuses. On the plus side, it has a great collection of coasters, and having the park set on a hill gives lots of possibilities that parks on utterly flat pieces of land don't have. On the minus side, it has let the condition of some of its once great coasters slide (e.g. Revolution, Colossus) or otherwise braked them to death (e.g. Viper). Also, the emphasis on being the "Xtreme park" means it will probably not build rides that would be lots of fun (e.g. CCI woodie terrain coaster, like Boulder Dash) but not break any records.

I've had pretty good luck with weekdays during the summer, but last year went on a Saturday in September and the park was packed.

Deja Vu is almost complete and should open on May 25th. X is WAY behind schedule, though footers have been in place for what seems like a centuray now and the bridge over to the station is pratically done.
I think it'll open in late July or August (or at least hopefully before November...).

SFMM fan here. Great rides, some pretty piss poor ride ops, but all in all an A+ park, for a coaster nut.

Why does everyone say that X is "WAY behind schedule?" I, for one, cannot remember hearing exactly when the opening date was going to be. Back when X and DV were announced, no opening dates were given. They just said summer 2001.

I grew up in Southern Cal and I can honestly say that I hate SFMM. Never liked it, never will. Yet for some reason I have to make the trek every year.....

If you hate it, this means you won't be taking up space at a great park.
