what is the most extreme coaster? one that will make you think twice before getting on. one that will stop your heart at the excitement? and where is this coaster located?

Well this is a hard topic to figure because some people are afraid of loops, drops, speed, ect. But my scariest coaster would be Stealth at PGA or X-Flight at SF:WOA because of the reclined position.

Scary is not always proportional to intensity, height, drops, inversions, etc.
<BR>
<BR>Scary is a state of mind. Any coaster could strike fear into the heart of someone.
<BR>
<BR>That being said...
<BR>
<BR>The scariest coaster for me is the Williams Grove Cyclone.
<BR>
<BR>Its not inense, its not high, its not fast. However it is the only coaster I ever rode that caused me to pray that I would survive the ride. I swore the thing was going to collapse under the weight of the trains... or the tracks were going to break apart as the train made its turn around... or the vibration of the chain lift was going to cause the lift hill to fly apart... or the wheels were going to fall off the trains... etc etc etc.
<BR>
<BR>This coaster looks like it should be condemned. I rode it last summer becuase it is a coaster and it is only 30 minutes from my home. However, now that I have ridden it, I don't plan to ever again.

Id say Hypersonic XLC. I mean the thought of being launched 0-80mph in 1.8 seconds & then going 165ft up a vertical hill & strait down kinda scares me a bit. Even though its not the biggest of anything, it still seems like a pretty scary ride to me.

Oblivion...i know its one drop but 200ft straight down and the way it crawls to the egde then stops adds to the intensity and when u in the queue theres
<BR>
<BR>(big brother voice) relax theres nothing to fear
<BR>
<BR>(worried person) then why is it called oblivion
<BR>
<BR>i must say its very i`ntense to ride and when ur going up the lift hill for the first time ur thinking....what am i doing...and when it hangs over the edge you want off...
<BR>ive seen ppl freak out when it goes over the edge but then beat me back to the queue hehe <IMG SRC="/phpBB/images/smiles/icon_lol.gif">

Im all for speed...but the Hypersonic XLC looks insane! 80 mph in 1.8 sec? Thats ridicioulous! Im having second thoughts about that one.

The only time I was ever scared about riding an actual roller coaster was when I was ten and rode the Magnum at night. I had already riden it that day, and even that night, w/o being scared, but it happened anyway. Go figure, might have been the freaks in the line.
<BR>The only other ride to ever scare me was Power Tower at CP on the Turbo Drop side. That thing goes up incredibly slow and you look down on everything, at least before MF.

I am sooo scared of Goliath. I have never been on it and I am just SO scared of that first hill....I was scared to death on Ghostrider's hill and that was only 108 feet! Goliath is over 200! How am I going to handle that??!!! I am not saying no, I am thinking about it, and just trying to mentally process this! Maybe y'all can tell me how you handle a drop that huge...100 feet more than Ghostrider....I just don't know.....

MIllenium Force's first hill is freaking SCARY. The angle up the hill, and how fast it goes, an the cars are so open. I was going
<BR>"OH MY GOD, OH MY GOD". I usually don't get scared on roller coasters. I also think the Power Tower, being shot down is terrifying. Just waiting for it to drop is nervewracking.

Havn't been scared on a coaster in a long time, my first looping coaster was The Demon @ PGA in third grade probably the scariest coaster ride I ever had, now it is tame: ) I still get freaked out on Supreme Scream at Knott's, I know it isn't a coaster, but I still shake, shiver and pray every time I get on.

Hypersonic XLC. I haven't ridden it yet, but that will change early august! I know it is a short ride, but that launch has to be very nerve racking.
<BR>I mean come on, those lights that count down till the time that youre gonna be thrown up a 165 foot vertical hill at 80 mph! Im excited already

Scariest ride for me: Mega Drop run by RCS Midway. I swear, you just sit there for 1:24 seconds (I counted with my watch), and you get nice and relaxed .....BAM!!! I swear, I think shat myself (as Austin Powers would say)!! I screamed for the whole 4 seconds, mostly because of the awful painful sensation in the pit of my stomach that lasted all the way down. In the enthusuiast way, I hopped back on.
Scariest coaster... Wilde Maus, also run by RCS Midway. The front of the little 2 person car literally comes off the track. Pain, screaming, and laughing. The kind of ride that gives you memorable bruises.:D

This topic belongs in Polls, as it is essentially a survey (despite being over 2 years old ;)).

Moving there now!

I get scared on lethal weapon not because it is Inverted but I alwats get the seat where the hareness is always coming out 2-3 inches out from my body so when I go through the loops and down the drop I am about to fall off that is scary.

Every coaster is scary to me, until I get over the lift hill, (afriad of heights), but for me, the one that really frightened me was the Jack Rabbit at Kennywood, I actually thought I was going to fall out of the coaster, but boy was it fun at the same time!!!

The first time I went on Raging Bull. I was just trying to get over my fear of rollercoasters and I was about to burst into tears on the lift hill. The second the drop started though, I knew I'd be an enthusiast for life.

I'd be lying if I said TTD doesn't give me butterflies in the least. MF sure did, even after the first few times. The Beast really gave me some, knowing the reputation it had, but it is one hell of a ride.

Its': Scariest :) Anyways. Mine was DEFENETLEY Millennium Force. The coaster itself was pretty scary, but it was the lift and waiting in line. I don't understand it! I found it so scary to see the "elevator" party of the Elevator lift system come back down to the station. It was so steep, so fast. And right when I got on it, I got really scared. And once we left, I WAS scared. Yup, Millennium Force is the one :)

X-Flight, I have a fear of falling--not heights.

well this one's kinda easy for me, Back before 1992 i was just terrified of coasters until my friend (after nagging me for 3 months) finally got me on one, Since that day i have been in love and there has been not one coaster that i was a little scared to ride, well that is until Millennium force came out, i was just terified to ride it but the 4 hour wait kinda build up a little courage until i reached the station that is and it just so happened that we were placed in the front seat and this was at 9pm so it was a dark ride. But now i'll ride anything no matter how tall, i wasen't to fased about TTD's height so i guess MF is the only coaster that i have thought twice about.

Coasters don't really scare me anymore, they give me a feeling of anticipation but that's about it.

I remember the first time I went on the Big Dipper at Blackpool Pleasure Beach in the back seat with a friend of mine. It was the first woodie we'd ever been on and on the first drop I honestly thought we were both going to go flying out of the train to our deaths. Of course now I know that's just amazing air but back then I was terrified and neither of us could let go of the lapbar when we got back to the station. That was about fifteen years ago.

Now I'd ride it all day.

I'd say Millennium Force on you first ride. On the left side in particular. Once you're halfway up you can see anything off that side except the water of Lake Erie...... freaky.

That doesn't scare me anymore but i did say FIRST RIDE. I'm always freaked out before a ride (unless it's small) if i hadn't ridden it before.

Well, for me, besides my first coaster and my first loop awhile ago, the only scary coaster has been Deja Vu. I'll admit that I have acrophobia (yeah, I picked the wrong obsession), and that's been my tallest coaster I've been on. The first time riding in the very back, outside seat, being 200ft (well, almost) up in the air with nothing holding you in execpt pure Vekoma, not the safest feeling ever. I'm sure TTD will totally blow Deja Vu away.

Any launched coaster. But I still ride them without doubt. I just get that feeling unlike other coasters.

Not so much coasters, its more scary to do some flat rides for me. Stuff like Dropzone at PKD I am going to do tommorow. Im def. scared but I am still going to ride it. I try not to let fear get into my way.

My fear is not of safety, Its because I dont know what to expect.

slipknot8527

I'd say the only time I fear for my life on any coaster is on the first tower of Deja Vu. I mean, you are hanging straight down at 200 ft up trusting the boys of vekoma (who arent very reliable) to not let you die or the harnesses snap open. It is a real mind *****.

scariest coaster ever-jack rabbit at kennywood. there was no lab bar, just a metal chain, which wasnt very comfortable at all. and there was one turn where i felt like i was going to literally fly out. so after that i looked my feet under the seat in front of me, and managed to get off the ride with some nice scratches on my shin.

without a doubt, it is the Blue Flash in Vincennes, IN. That is in fact one of the most terrifying things i've ever experienced. maybe not so much the whole ride, but the slow lift to the top of that twisted creation. U ever felt 7+ g's in a loop? itll scare ya up real good!!!!

In terms of butterflies in my stomach, these coasters did it to me: TTD, Millenium Force, Hypersonic XLC, X-Flight(first flyer)

Overall, the one ride that scared me the most wasn't a coaster. It was Acrophobia. First, I was afraid of those "male unfriendly" seats. They actually didn't hurt at all, you just have to stand at the right angle. Once I got to the top, my fear of heights set in big time, and not having anything under my feet only amplified my fear. The ride itself was a wicked rush, and I want one of those to go in up here at SFWoA so I can ride it all day. :)

Camden Park's Big Dipper scared me a different way. I was afraid the ride was gonna collapse in on itself while I was riding. That thing felt so unsafe.

The seats are what really scared me. I wasn't worried about the height, but the thought of hitting the brakes in that position scared me.

Well I will eventually have TTD to compare it to once I go while it's open. I will probobly be back in August and I will definately be back for Halloweekends so eventually I will get on it. Anyway, the all time scariest would be Dodonpa hands down. Much in a Hypersonic fashion the coaster creeps out of the station but instead of waiting in the open to launch you are in a tunnel. The only coaster I wish I didn't know what to expect because then atleast I wouldn't have so much anxiety but in the end it was great.

When i was little i was always scared of The Joker's Revenge and Rattler at SFFT. The first time i rode the rattler it was in the front and it was a blast, When i rode Joker's Revenge it was kinda scary going backwards and also hurt my head really bad but turned out great I am glad i got to ride it before it was moved to SFNO

Mindbender @ SFOG the first time I rode it was scary. I was like terrified because it was my first coaster that had a loop. I almost passed out in the first loop because I was not breathing lol.

Beast sort of scared me the first time, (just the tunnels at the end). They are so tight I just knew I was going to lose a finger!!!

MForce was a little scary, but not much. One of my friends was much more nervous than I was. I was ready for it to get going. I loved it, although driving across the causeway into CP it just looks rediculous!! No matter how many times I had seen it on the internet, it was nothing like standing beside it for the first time!!

I can't wait to ride TTD. :)

itz gotta be NITROS lift hill at SA GA, it seems like it takes forever and itz so high but the first drop seems straight down with no place for ur feet and nothing beside u (if ur on the end) if u put ur hands up, it seems like your flying. thats real fun there but the lift hill just freaks me out totally.

Kumba and Ninja, both when I was only 10 or 11. Ninja- first looper, Kumba-frist megalooper and first dive-loop, zero-g, and cobra roll. Since then, I haven't been afraid of anything, not MF, TTD, Oblivion, or Drop Zone (PKD).
