Discuss entered parks, advertise yours and pretty much use this as a general discussion area. Don't forget to post the links to your download in the SpeedZone just to be easier.

Hooray! I'll advertise my park(s) later... thanks, Andy!
EDIT: Umm... where do we put the parks?

Finally! Almost a year after the park was first started, Valhalla Valley is released to the public! (yes, I am a very slow parkmaker) This park has been a labor of love for me, and now that I am finally finished, I can’t wait to see what people think of it. I strongly suggest that you take a gander at the readme; I spent a lot of time writing it, and it explains a lot of the park in great detail. Well without further ado, I present to you, Valhalla Valley by Rebel2000.

Well this is the park that I have been working on since the end of last school year. This park has taken me such a long time, and I lost interest in it for a while. I clicked the PP button when I posted the park, but it did not come up as being entered in PP. Sorry about that, but there is really nothing I can do. Can somebody please fix it though? Andy maybe or possibly another mod. That would be great. Ok well when you download the park read the Read-Me and the park will make a lot of sense as a story, and most importantly, enjoy!

Finnally the new contest starts! Hopefully we will get more submissions... I have a feeling it will be a close race between VV and Atlantis....

Ok, now that I have time to do a quick review, I must say, Valhalla Valley looks quite different that I thought it would. However, the park is awesome. A wonderful and unique theme, REALLY good names, and wonderful quality are some good attributes of this park. The layouts and overall design of Eric the Red and Grendel/Beowulf were awesome, those are my favorite coasters. The Ravager was nice, and I really liked the first drop, however the double lifts brought it down a little. Odins Flight was pretty much a typical hyper coaster... not to much to say there, exept I really liked the colors and the custom supports were really nice looking.... I guess the one thing that hurt this coaster were those large helixes around the castle structures, I thought those were sort-of unattractive. The hotel, waterpark, and read-me were also really nice extras. This is such a different style of park then what I'm used to seeing, and becasue of that I cant help liking it.
Intamin101, I believe I've told you what I think of your park; really awesome and one of the better first parks then I've seen in quite some time. It really is going to be hard to choose between these two parks, however, I know this isnt all the competition, with Valpengiest entering C:MC, the choice will probably be even harder.
CeadarFairMaster- enter MP28. Seriously.
Tycoon- enter Rainforest Gardens (it did sort of get cheated out of a TNPP)
also, all the others who entered a park in that other TNPP that didnt officially end, ENTER YOUR PARKS!!!!!
I think under the circumstances, this SHOULD be our best TNPP, so enter those parks. Now.

Firstly, it's CEDAR, not CEADAR. Get it right ;)
It seems as though people preferred Rainier Falls (MP28) over Oakwood Lake (MP21). Funny. Maybe I'd know for sure if people posted comments in the download page. (http://www.thrillnetwork.com/speedzone/index.php?page=getinfo&table=Roller_Coaster_Tycoon&id=10) I would like to get some feedback.
Okay, enough of the ranting. I suppose I'll give consideration to submitting Rainier Falls. If I did, would I have to repost the park so that I can enter it in the contest, or can I modify the current download page so that it's entered without me reposting?
As for the parks that were entered, Valhalla Valley got a 9.1 in the testing review. I really liked that park, it had great rides and very creative scenery. Atlantis recieved an 8.7 in the initial testing review, but that number will rise when I do a more extensive review of the final version. Expect something around 8.9, 9.0.
Finally, as Butterfinger said, lets make this the best of the TNPP contests.
Oh, yes, one final note. Expect MP29, my first RCT2 work, a small 90 by 90 park done in a style similar to Oakwood Lake's to be released soon.

Hey CFM, take a look at the version of the park in Speedzone. I've made a bunch of changes since you tested it. One in particular having to do with the brake run of The Ravager. ;) You to, Intamin101. The "box" has been fixed. :D
To Andy, you really have to publicize this contest. Seeing as the main site is the most trafficked part of Thrillnetwork, I think you should advertise the TNPP there. Have a link that stays up there until the end of the contest. That way a lot more parks may be entered. We gotta have more than 2!

Yeah seriously. I mean you don't have to put forth a lot of effort, if you don't think it is worth it, but if you don't even advertise it, then you definitely won't get a response. At least put a link at the front of the page.

With Rebel, Intamin, CFM, and me entering, it'll be a decent race, but more parks would make it better.
It'll be awhile before C:MC is entered, but I will enter it. The tester gave me many comments, most of which I've not begun to modify until recently.
BTW... something messed up on my PC and I can't d/l parks anymore, but I trust VV and Atlantis are pretty good!
And yes, more advertisement would help.

Alright, December is half over and we have...TWO PARKS. Come on people, where are your entries? It's been a week and we haven't even posted in the thread. Andy, seriously, you have to get a link to this on the main page or something. I'll do my part by advertising it on other sites. Hopefully that might help.
COME ON!

can we enter rct2 parks? if we can then you will be seeing a very "differant" park in this race. none of that changing every square of land stuff, but rollercoaster stuff. the game isnt called rollercoaster tycoon for nothing. its not called theming tycoon. the game is to make rollercoasters. im entering my park with about 30 differant rollercoasters with excitement ratings with averages around 8 with no theming. oh yeah, there are also about 4500 guests in the park. so you should be seeing that soon.

Alright, after much though, I decided to enter. Here's (http://www.thrillnetwork.com/speedzone/index.php?page=getinfo&table=Roller_Coaster_Tycoon&id=30) the Premier Parks edition of Rainier Falls. It's been updated a bit, and there's an overview and a preview pic of MP29, so take a look.
It says it's not entered in the contest, but I clicked on the thing to enter it when I posted. Could a mod make it so it says it's entered?

The Speedzone entry thing doesn't really matter. Andy said he's just gonna post a poll when the month is over, kinda like the old contests.
I'll post reviews of CMC and MP28 later. Sorry, SFGadvKing, but I don't have RCT2 yet.

Doesn't voting begin the last week of the month?
So... no reviews yet? I know CMC wasn't the best, but no comments?

Lol, sorry Valp..... I've been... ehhh... lazy.
I really liked C:MC. The backstory was interesting, and the park was pretty enjoyable. The coasters were nice, but one prob with them is the small lack of themeing. IMO the trees were overdone a bit. Try and add more paths/buildings/and attractions in the future instead of just filling up with trees. I especially liked the atmosphere of this park..... nice and cheery.
Rainier Falls really wasnt that immpressive, but I guess its just not my style. I really dont like single wide paths, and you should really put in some buildings in the future. However, some of the coasters were different (in a good way) and were quite nice.
Once again, I am going to have a tough time deciding (that is, if the poll ever gets put up *cough*cough* Andy *cough*cough*)

Yours is RCT2, right? I don't know if anyone has RCT2 yet (I do, but I'm not allowed to d/l parks... sorry)
And sorry for being so pushy about reviews. I'm an impatient fidget. ;)

Roller Coaster City
Sorry, but I really didn't like the idea behind his park. I know what you were going for, a park with dozens of coasters and zero theming, but it didn't work. Most of the coasters were ugly, either because they were crowded or had awkward layouts, and none really stood out. The thing is, with so many coasters, most lost their identity, there was nothing special about them. I couldn't really tell if any were good because the game was running too slow due to all the stuff on the screen, also. You really need theming to have a good park, and I'm glad to hear that your next park will have some.
Cynambre Maghneus Creek
Wow, most treed park ever! I didn't think it could get worse than my first park! Well besides that, this was a better than average park. The coasters overall were above average, too. Valorevigoro, Cymaguatos, and Shatter all had very cool parts, and Madcap Dash and Hydrospritzer were both delightful kiddie coasters. I thought, though, that The Rampant of the Forest was an awesome coaster, probably better than the hyper twister in my park. It just had a great layout and setting, and amazing didn't exceed a mile in length.
As for theming/landscaping, you did well here. The architecture was good, but you should refrain from using so many fences and scenery objects on top of buildings. It looks kinda tacky. I'd say that my favorite building was the one that surrounds Fortress Falls' big drop. I'm glad that there is little flat land, and the creek did look nice, too. You should get rid of the gray pathing, though; I've always despised it. Well, overall an above average first park with a cool backstory, and I think you have some potential.
Rainer Falls
I actually liked this park a little better than that other one you released. I kinda think you should expand your RCT horizons, though, and build past what the game expected (do you get what I mean?). Anyways, nice coasters. Out of all of them, I liked Thunderbird the best, as it had a nice layout. Phoenix and Nighthawk were cool as well, and Arctic Twister and Headhunter had beautiful surroundings.
As for scenery, it was above average, but could use some work. The gardens all looked nice, but I think you could have varied some of them, like not having so many pink flowers in one area. Trees looked alright, although there wasn't that many in the scheme. The architecture, well, stunk. Most were just long buildings that had no variances or flat sqaure buildings. Definitely work on your architecture. I will say, however, that the water use in the park was great. I'm not really sure why I liked this park better than the other one, but I did. Good work.
