Whats the Worst B&M

06-17-2001, 03:10 PM
I don't know if it is the worst because I haven't been on many but Iron Wolf at SFGAm(the first) is pretty bad.

Iron Wolf

06-17-2001, 03:38 PM
I agree, Iron Wolf is pretty bad.

06-17-2001, 03:43 PM
mantis, i hate the mantis.

06-17-2001, 04:29 PM
The worst coaster designed by Walter Bolliger and Claude Mabillard is Flashback, SFMM. They designed it when they're working for Intamin. It's their first coaster, and it's also one of the most hated coaster on earth.

Batman, just because it's a clone.

06-18-2001, 04:38 AM
Only been on a handful, but Mantis was the least enjoyable.

i'm one of they weiro's who likes mantis, so i say iron wolf, even though it isn't bad.

may the FORCE be with you

I'm gonna have to say Top Gun at PGA, its just too short and boring. I've never ridden Oblivion, but i have a feeling it would have the same problem.

06-18-2001, 07:10 AM
i have never ridden a B&M i didnt like.and i also enjoyed mantis, i dont see why everyone bashes it so much.i did not feel any discomfort on it at all.

06-18-2001, 08:12 AM
Flashback sounds horrible. But out of all the B&M's I'ver been on I'd have to say Vortex at PGA.

06-18-2001, 09:07 AM
Raptor at Cedar Point. It's not BAD, but it's the worst B&M I've been on. (I've been on: Batman:TR, Superman: KC, Mantis).

06-18-2001, 09:14 AM
I dunno why everyone disses on Batman just because it is a clone! It is still one of the best inverted coasters out there.

06-18-2001, 10:06 AM
Of the ones i've been on....Batman:The Ride
<BR>I've ridden Kumba, Montu, Kraken, Hulk, DD, Georgia Scorcher, and Batman:TR

06-18-2001, 10:21 AM
its w/o a doubt Batman Knight Flight, that thing is just a 3 minute nap

06-18-2001, 11:00 AM
I agree with B:KF. It starts off with a nice drop, an enormous loop and a tight intense curve. Everything after that is downhill. The next turn is not intense and the cobra roll exists just to turn you upside down. The second half is really a bore also.
<BR>Iron Wolf is a close second because it has the potential to be a great ride. The midcourse drop into the flatspin is unrivaled in any standup and the layout is Batman-like.
<BR>Wheras B:KF can't change anything in the layout, Iron Wolf just needs to change the trains.

No doubt it is Vortex at Carowinds. That thing is a waste of space. Here's a pic:

Batman: The Ride. They don't seem to age well and they're becoming as common as Boomerangs. Transitions? We don't need no stinkin' transitions. The only thing I'll give it is that it is probably the cheapest B&M per element available today.
<BR>'That's just my opinion, I could be wrong.'

06-18-2001, 12:28 PM
If Flashback was really designed by them, then it gets my vote. It sucked when it was Z-force at SFOG.

06-18-2001, 12:34 PM
I think we did this one before, but here goes again...
<BR>Of the ones I have ridden, from most favorite to least favorite...
<BR>Incredible Hulk
<BR>Great Bear
<BR>Dueling Dragons - Fire
<BR>Dueling Dragons - Ice
<BR>"Worst" is a relative term. I would say "least favorite" rather than "worst".

06-18-2001, 12:57 PM
I'd have to say Vortex. Not that it was a bad ride or anything, it's just not very big at all. It does have a nice drop though.
<BR>I love Iron Wolf, I think most people just expect too much out of every coaster. It was very intense and I didn't feel it was rough at all.

06-18-2001, 01:50 PM
flashback was designed by intamin NOT b&m. b&m would never make something that terrible

06-18-2001, 01:55 PM
How can you guys vote off a five-inversion, 4-g pulling, feet chopping, inverted coaster against a two-inversion, tiny, stand up coaster? My vote goes to Iron Wolf!

06-18-2001, 02:08 PM
Actually b&m did make something as bad as Flashback, because they designed it for Intamin. Take a look at the track...look familiar? B&M did work for Intamin in their early days.

06-28-2001, 03:25 PM
mantis is the second best stand up besides RR
<BR>and iron wolf is definitly the worst ever
<BR>but the reason why i like mantis is when 2 people passed out on it and as they were carring the people off the ride you here the recording they have that says "mantis is not for everybody"

10-17-2001, 07:40 PM
My least favorite B&M. Kraken. It is practically forceless. I barely even felt like I was moving.

Most disappointing B&M. The Hulk. I was just expecting more. The launch was a blast, but after that... eh.

10-17-2001, 08:15 PM
i have never been on a bad b&m. most people think batman the ride is too short, but it packs a punch:cool:

10-17-2001, 08:46 PM
im not buying all of this batman knight flight stuff. it was sooo smooth. i dont think it was designed to be intense. it was designed to be a lot of fun, and it is. i love it.

10-17-2001, 09:10 PM
Least Favorite To Favorite:
Kraken, Hulk, Chang, DD, AP, Alpengeist.
They are all good rides, but if all 5 were in the same park, and I could only ride one, it would definately be Alpie. If I could ride all but 1, I would ride all but Kraken.(The floorless design is cool, but Hulk's launch and barrel roll up top beat it out.)

10-17-2001, 09:18 PM
batman the ride or talon they are to compact i dont hate these just the worst b n m i have been on

10-17-2001, 09:32 PM
wow, your about the only person that hates talon.you must be a kook.

Actually it was designed by B&M. If you researched it, you'd find that B&M worked at Intamin for a long time before starting their own firm, and Flashback was the first ride Intamin let them design on their own. Notice how the track for it was B&M's prototype track, its almost identical to their *perfect* track that they have now. The track is nothing like any Intamin track. I love that ride. If it got new trains without OTSRs, it would rock. Even if it just smoothed out a bit, it would be a lot more fun... I still have a lot of respect for that ride.

Second of all, someone said Top Gun at PGA is the worst... by far its not. Vortex at PGA is the worst. Rough, short, and way TOO many G's for a stand up. Top Gun is awesome... it may not be Raptor or another 6 looper, but it was a B&M first gen inverted. Amazingly smooth and super awesome turnaround after the first loop. Really good inline twist too.

My experience with Vortex was terrible. I went on it expecting something Riddler's Revenge-ish. I had never seen pictures of it, so I assumed the loop would be big and smooth like on RR, but (like everything else at PGA) it is undersized and not fun. I can honestly say I only like three rides at that park. Top Gun, Stealth, and Demon.

All of you should come vote in THE BATTLE OF THE BAY coaster survivor in Message Board Games.

The B&M's I've been on are:

Dueling Dragons
Apollo's Chariot
Georgia Scorcher
Batman: The Ride (SFOG)

My least would have to be Kumba for the roughness on just about every inversion it has.

10-20-2001, 02:15 PM
I like em all, but the least enjoyable was probably Iron Wolf.

10-20-2001, 03:26 PM
Iron Wolf

10-20-2001, 07:31 PM
why Iron Wolf, did you ride it when it was new and the smoothest ride ever?
