Can you go on rides like at Disneyland, or some "tour" rides at least?

alpengeistlover

Yeah but none of the intense rides. Basically all the rides that I was looking forward to!

Sorry about your illness. Try and talk your parents in delaying the Virginia trip another month or two. Anyways, hope you get better soon.

Wow two parks, at least you get to take pictures, watch the coasters and be there. I have it way worse then you and with no disease. I have been to BGW but i was too little to go on any of the coasters then. I have only been to SFGAdv and SFO. I probably not going to any prks this year even SFGAdv my home park, kinda. I would rather go to a theme park just to watch coasters instead of staying home with nothing to do for the summer but figure out calculations and everything for my Rolling Thunder model. I found out that nobody here likes me cause i post too much when kraken seems to be not far behind.+ i've got no friends or anybody to care about me. (Yes, i do have parents but they don't seem to like me much). I try to pay for a trip to other theme parks put i still can't go. So i think me life sucks more then yours but i bet no one will care or say that yours is worse.

No coasters, thats gotta be bad. I suggest you play a lot of RCT to keep from going mad. But a lot of the time it makes me want to go on coasters even more. Hope your treatment goes well!

We all feel for you! All of us in these forums love coasters and it would be devastating to anyone of us if we weren't able to do something we absolutely love. My heart goes out to you and I believe from everyone else in here! WE hope and pray that you get better so you can get back to thrill seeking!

Well I was thinking of screw the advise, but then I could black out, and me being 13 but only 4'10 and 80 lbs I could or something along those lines. Theress not much anybody can do just stupid hospital but thanks for your caring, I really like it

Medusa1861,

You aren't hated on this board. Kraken and I are friends(somewhat), and he has a deep knowledge of roller coasters that I haven't seen you display, yet. Posts don't impress me, the quality of your posts do. I mean, we can all vote off coasters in "survivor", but can you name all 66 inverted coasters in the world, like Kraken? That is what earns my respect. Medusa, maybe if you would slow down your posts and speed up your quality of posts that would make you more well-liked. Also, don't shoot down people who like S:ROS more than Nitro. That might get you more popularity votes.

to fill people in, anemia is when you are easily bruised as a result of an iron deficiency in the body. I have no idea what Crohn's Disease is, somebody maybe fill me in?

Personally, i doubt any of the coasters at BGW would hurt you, cept for maybe wild mouse. PKD might be another story, rides to stay away from would be Anaconda, and maybe the 3 wooden coasters.

Otherwise, I doubt you have too much to worry about, I think the doctors just want to make sure you are absolutely safe, and beside, whats life without a few risks... I say, go for it and ride some of the coasters, unless your parents wont allow you to cuz of what the doctor said.

theriddler
06-19-2001, 10:44 PM
dont give hi madvice, the doctors know more about the disease than you, obviously...seeing as anemia doesnt make you "bruise easily" anemia is a conditin where you have a low deficiency of red blood cells so it can make you faint soemtimes.

MIKEska22

I also have chrons disease and anemia (although i think i have it a little worse) Anemia is a deficiency of IRON in the blood and it makes you bruise easaly, pass out if exerted at all, and be extreamly tired ALOT. When i was first diagnosed back when i was 13, the summer during + after 7th grade, i was not givin this advise and when i was in line for the SLC (new that year) i got really hot, my vision blured, everything seemed really far away, my hearing deafened, and then i passed out against the wall i was leaning on, but no one noticed and i went on anyway. For about the next two days i was so tired i could barely move. TAKE THE DOCTORS ADVISE.
I was also very short and i didnt get my growth spurt until this year (im a junior in HS now) but i shot up to where i origanally was on the growth chart before i got sick. I was also very skinny, but now im normal.
I'm not sure what medicine your gonna be taking, but ive took them all (steroids being the worst) I even had to get feed through a tube every night until before school which gave me big spots on my face from the tape and hurt a reall lot when it was hapining. I even couldent go out the night of middle school graduation because i had to go home and get this. I had my intestins close up completly (ill explain more about the disease later) and went into the first day of high school and about 10 minutes into it threw up. this happened about 3 times a day (every time i ate) and lasted for about a month. I almost died from mal-nutrition because no food was being digested. i ended up missing about a month and a half of school (after the crazy puking thing) and had a foot of intestions removed. I had to go to school with a I.V. in my arm on two sperate eccasions for about 2 weeks each (cause i was on IV medicine at my hose). i have missed well over a month of school every year sense my diagnosis (but i still get high honors). I am currently on a pill-form of chemo therapy called 6MP wich works ok, and also an introvenouse form of chemo called Remicade (is that what your gonna go on ?) which is great. I get it every 8 weeks and it has given me my appitite back and made me semi-normal. if this is what your gonna go on i highly recomend it cause it has worked wonders for me.
the disease itself (chrons) is a form of irratable bowl syndrom, but more severe. it is caused by your liver producing to mush of a certain evzym that fights off infections and such, and this causes you immune system to attack your intestins. the pain usually is caused by eating certain foods (my diet used to SUCK) or not eating enough food. Sense it is attacking your intestions, you can have a "flare up" which is when the become inflamed and it hurts to do almost everything. if these are not taken care of, or they are frequent enough, your intestions can scare over and become to small for food to pass thruogh (which happened to me). It has many symptoms such as EXTREAM STOMACH PAIN, anemia, loss of apatite, and other, more disgusting, symptoms. I, personally, have had every hospital test you can think of (i think a third arm is gonna sprout out of my forehead sometime soon), about 5 surgurys, a foot of intestine removed, and lots of hospitalizations (about 2 a year, about 1-2-3-4 weeks each.)
hope this gave you all some insight into what this (uncurable, lifelong) disease is like, and to the kid with all those posts and no coasters all summer, you have it easy.
P.S. after having surgery your supossed to go about 3-4 years without symptoms, mine came back 2 DAYS LATER
Yes, but how do you know he didn't just go to rollercoaster database or something.Knowing all inverted coasters are basicly just knowing the Vekomas the rest are easy B&M only have21, Intamin only have 8, Gionavola only have anaconda in africa and ziere how ever you spell that kiddy coaster company is working on that portable inverted, I know B&M ar working on 3 other inverts. But really Kraken is a show off like in the name coasters that have only 2 invertions, he named like 10, but i asked before i wrote all of them if you are supposed to write one and he answered only one before he decided to write all of them.

i don't hate you medusa, i just don't envy you because most of your posts state either facts or you opinion, but rarely why.
as for the whole disease and BGW and PKD trip thing, that does suck. atleast with BGW you can ride corkscrew hill.

MIKEska22

Actually its not genetic, they think that your more likely to get it if someone in your family had it, but the origins are as of now unknown.

Wow, learn something new everyday, and I just learned a lot about your disease.

Sorry to hear that it's going to reduce some of your fun on your trip. I know that, combined with everything else that you go through with it, is a major bummer. Especially if you are anywhere near Mike's development of it.

I'll definately be keeping you both in my thoughts and prayers.
