six flags Darien Lake once again neglects our area and proves it self to not be worth the $8 parking fee.(used to be $4 that many years ago) Thank You Ohio for your over realistic expansion.YOU WILL NEVER BE BETTER THEN CEDAR POINT THEY HAVE TRADITION! I hope all our dip in dots income is going to use. For those of you who have never been to Darien Lake.. Well its basically an old campground gone blacktop. Its a shame that it couldn't have stayed a family owned park. You have to wonder how anyone can run a chain theme park and ignore a dedicated community I wish six flags would have kept its pocket book where it belongs. They created a really ... thrilling commercial. and what really makes me laugh is they state.. with five years of new rides and attractions ... well the first two years six flags had nothing to do with them.. so basically there trying to make up for the time lost this summer and last. screw superman and DC comics anyway. everyone knows marvel comics is by far the better comic. with little sarcasm to spare i often wonder how much money this park made with the addition of there out dated and ridden ride superman the ride of 99 (the original for all you clone riders).. wouldn't you think they would wanna make more money?

Two years ago no goal
last year no roll
this year still no new coaster...
but six flags gave us a new Darien Lake commercial. God bless American advertisement

And if you wanna add this:
it really sucks to see Darien Lake bought out and bored up. No new progress in what started to be a great theme park. You always have to enjoy getting nothing .. especially after giving year after year to this open field amusement park..... . Im sure the city of buffalo would want some kinda big theme park on the water front. Nothing more powerful then the falls.

thanks

Again please comment .. Well if you feel on anything other then my grammar spelling and well all that. Oh and GO sabres

The reason Six Flags is pouring so much money into SFWoA is because they want to compete with CP. They may never be "better" than CP, but they'll try their darndest. I do agree with you. I think some Six Flags parks are neglected. SF Eltich Gardens, SF Fiesta Texas and SFDL all are being overlooked, which isn't right. Don't worry though, SFDL's time will come, soon.

The problem with parks like Elitch Gardens is that there's absolutely no room to expand. Also, Paramount Carowinds is so much more overlooked that King's Dominion or King's Island. They get a Hypersonic XLC and a Hyper-woodie. What does Carowinds get? A Super Saturator!!! Zippi dee do da! We'd all love to ride a Super Saturator much more than state of the art coasters than take you from 0 to 80 in seconds! Of course! And I'm really getting off topic here...

SFDL is suppose to get a 2 new coasters in 2003. As to what they are, I cannot determine, they are doing this to try to raise income in the area. Also some new flat rides might be in the planning as well, but don't get your hopes up, these are just random notes i stumbled on with a friend of mine.

theyre selling sfdl next year. be careful what youwish for. thats so stupid. do you think if sf didnt own it you would get a singel good coaster for the next 10 years?

They should just build one of the two next year and save the other one in 2003

Just curious- what's your source that they are selling SFDL? That's one option that I really doubt is going to happen. Why create competition for themselves when they can "keep it in the family"
Name one ride that CP has retained from over 40 years ago, there might be some, but a substantial quanity of their rides, attractions, food, and theming are all new, therefore having the park not being tradition. So you can't pull the tradition BS on CP for an excuse for why it's not up to Six Flags par. (I don't mean to be a CP basher, but I think that SF is far better then CF.)
I'd love to see this thing saying they are selling one of their parks, especially one with a top ten coaster. (according to Discovery channel, this Superman ranked higher than S:ROS at SFNE. Glad the mirror clone is at SFA )

You'd think they'd wanna invest in this park because it has the most available land of all SF parks.
CP opened in the 1870's, Six Flags wasn't even a dream at that time. CP has structure's and hotels that date back to 1906. True many of the thrill rides are new, but so are all of Six flags attractions. I realize that was off the topic, but it had to be said.

I think another thing that is hurting SFDL, is location. Although there may be many folks who would love to see the park get new attractions, those attractions are allocated based on ridership. How many big cities are within 250 miles of SFDL. I think the population base for SFWoA and CP is upwards of 6 million. Cleveland, Detroit, Columbus, Cincinnati, Pittsburg, Youngstown, Akron, and others are all within 250 miles of CP and SFWoA. This is why they get all the rides, and all the capitol investments. Not to punish you, the locals, but because there is not enough of you to recoup a 20 Million dollar investment from.

Just my humble opinion.

It is neglected but look at SFEG. At least SFDL has S:ROS. Mabee that rumored 4D coaster will rise next year...

Well Six Flags cant add a coaster to every one of their parks each year. They have too many. Maybe next year will be DL's turn...
