I bet Vekomafan hopes everyone picks Borg or Batwing, right?

Of the coasters I've seen in person, TTD probably has the best theming actually. Everything fits together really well. Even the on-ride photo is very cool for it.

Actually Batwing has the worst theme, knowing @ six flags where they cant afford themes. I was hoping you would pick thundermountain railroad.

Any coaster at an Orlando park is going to have the best theming, so those are my picks.

Revenge of the Mummy has awesome themeing too.

What is revenge of the mummy? Is it a Premier Indoor Coaster or some High Tech Computerized simulator. When I saw the picture (before construction) it seemed too small to be a roller coaster. Could some one fill me in?

Its a heavily themed coaster.

My favorites are Dueling Dragons at Islands of Adventure, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad at Disneyland, the Legoland coasters, Alpengiest at Busch Gardens Williamsburg, and Montu at Busch Gardens Tampa.

What could be better than Borg Assimilator? Some people might laugh and say it's only a 2nd-rate, hand-me-down coaster with a new paint job. They're so wrong!!! The paint job is incredible---totally makes that ride. Oh, and it's a Vekoma as well.

Borg = #1

I gotta say The Beast.

Just about every coaster in Orlando has an incredible theme, but my favorite would have to be Dueling Dragons.

Of those I've ridden, I would say FOF by Premier and Volcano by Intamin at PKD have great theming. I also like LNM and of course, Alpengeist.

I gotta say The Beast.
The Beast has always been one of my favorites, but other than newly added speakers with sound effects on the lift hill, what theming does it have?

RaptorXLC
08-21-2004, 02:21 PM
woods. That's all it needs. It's a run through the woods, so you can't see anything. That's what makes it great. You have no idea what to expect.

I also agree with Dueling Dragons and the Hulk. And so many have stated this, but pretty much all the Orlando coasters have great theming.

Who cares....if it wasn't made by vekoma then it's not worth knowing.

I vote for Hulk.

I have yet to see the best theme for a coaster. It's somewhere out there just waiting to be built and themed. Most of the themes already are kinds lame.

My Favorite Theme coaster is Xcelerator at Knott's Berry Farm. I always liked the 1950s Theme.

Men In Black Alien Attack at Uni. has really good themeing also.

Trip report from Universal and IOA is at the link below. I wrote it.

indiana jones. That ride has the best theming! I love the ride and its theme both!

Yea, There are a lot of rides that have grea theming. Mostly Disney/Universal, but Paramount does a good job on some rides too.

Even Shrek-4D's preshow has good themeing.

Alpengeist at BGW has some great themeing. My favorite part of the themeing would have to be the station. I think the ski lodge style is pretty awesome.

I like the whole idea of Flight of Fear.

08-23-2004, 11:56 AM
I would have to pick Alpengheist as well, I love the drink stand outside of the entrance with the skiier stuck in the roof. I would also have to pick the Italian Job Stunt Track if Paramount themes it like it is in the movies of the ride.

CoasterDJ

My favorite theming is a tough call to make. I mean there is Flight of Fear at PKD, Alpengiest at BGW, Top Gun The Jet Coaster at PC and a couple of others that just escape me right now. Even the Goldrusher at Carowinds is nice the way you have to walk through the wooded area to get to the ride which almost feels more like a sawmill or something. But where the pavement meets the highway there can only be one. And while Goldrusher makes a lot of use of the surrounding environment, I have to narrow it down to Alpengiest and Flight of Fear. And as great as each one is....

I would have to say:

Flight of Fear (Formerly Outer Limits) at Kings Dominion by Premier Rides.
I love the whole concept of Aliens and a UFO, as well as the entire que station, exit station, loading platform and everything is just so immersive. It is that depth to me that makes it better than Alpengiest, but Alpengiest is "close, very close indeed", but it is edged out by Flight Of Fear.

Hmmm RnRC at disney world... even in line your getting set up for whats to come.. then you have a pre show.. and then you see the launch... and then you get to ride it and even the end when you get off keeps the theme....
also.. umm BigThunder Mt.... you really cant get much more of a theme then that...

but what themeing does Hulk have? "oooh fog" great theme...

Rock n roller coaster has AWESOME theming. I like the idea of music on the ride.

I also like TTD's theming. I thought the sound of the engine was going to be really cheesy but it turned out great. It makes the ride a whole lot better. The suspense right before you are about to launch is awesome.

I would have to say The Mummy at Universal Orlando. Too bad the line feels bigger than the ride.

It's clear Universal spent all the money on the que. Why i'll never know.

The woods that surround the Beast to me is natural theaming. At least IMO.

Save that, FOF and then even though it's not a coaster, Tomb Raider...all at PKI.

What a great park.

I like the Millenium force where you look down to the left and all you see is water 310 feet down.

I think the best coaster theme is Volcano at PKD. It's really cool how you get blasted out of a volcano. Also, I like how you see flame coming out of the top right before the ride is launched.

As far as a coaster that has a great theme, I haven't seen any. Then again, I ride coasters different than all of you. I look straight ahead at the tracks, I have other things I'm thinking about while riding a coaster and the theme is not one of them. :leeloo2:

Im very surprised no one has mentioned Space Mountain. I absolutely love its themeing.

my favorite coaster theme is Superman the Ride (vekoma) at Six Flags Holland, Superman the Escape (intamin) at SFMM and Riddler's Revenge (B&M) at SFMM.

AMEN. lol...

Before it's new paint job, BTE had "let the years give it it's natural theming..." as the entire queue consists of rusting metal. But now with the yellow, it's no natural theme now. But actual themed rides that i prefer are: SFFT's actual only themed ride, Roadrunner Express. It had Coyote all over it. And the queue is pretty detail too! Surprising for an SF ride. Maybe, GhostRider? at KBF? That's pretty cool i guess...? RnRc is pretty cool too! I like the music on board. Very upbeat. And the exit makes a nice little accent too! SM's exit is feeble.

I Think it's fair to say that this comment would apply to "The Beast" as well...

Space Mountain has some great stuff going on there too. Do they still have that moving sidewalk that takes you past the display's of "the future"???
