Man, I remember when the first person hit 2000. It was a big deal.
Congrats, I'm only trailing by about 3000 though. I'm catching up.

Man I want a 1000. I wanna be able to make my own avatars. 'Tis not fair I say!

Congrats. At the rate I'm going, Hillary will be president before I make it to 5000 ;) lol

LOL, hopefully that will never happen. Thats all we need. Maybe by the time Arnold is president. Oh god help us.

Wes
09-10-2004, 04:10 PM
No! Not Arnold!

Arnold can't be President anyway. He wasn't born here. And from my limited knowledge of politics, I think you have to be born here to qualify for President.

Well I got curious so I found the answer. He can't be. http://www.whitehouse.gov/government/exec.html

That is true now but they are trying to change that part of the law as we speek. They mentioned it while i was watching the RNC.

At least you'll probably still be alive when that happens. ;)

Congrats on 5000, even though you don't know who James Dean is. (will never let you forget that you know). lol

I know James Dean...Rebel Without A Cause is a great movie, and I really like it because its one of the only older movies I've seen that still connects with me and others. I saw him in another movie about an oil ranch with Elizabeth Taylor that I didn't really like though.

Wow, great job. If I'm going at the rate I'm going right now I am going to be the next phil! I think I am at 8.5 posts per day.

Wow, great job. If I'm going at the rate I'm going right now I am going to be the next phil! I think I am at 8.5 posts per day.

And if only their was a rating system for the quality of posts, we'd have about 2/3 the amount of members over the 1000 posts mark.

Having a high number of posts does not a good poster make you.

Even the almighty Phil will tell you that there's a good number of his posts that are crap.

coasetrphil
09-10-2004, 11:57 PM
I will say that for the most part all of my posts have a lot of thought put into them. However I'm willing to say 10-15% of them are probably absolutely worthless, because when I first started out I was being driven by the different avatars. Once I got used to the site though I almost never posted spam.

Carowinds 73-03
09-11-2004, 03:30 AM
The #1 Poster would be none other that CoasterPhil. 7,000+ I sure the only way to catch him is if he were to leave forever or for say 6 months.

And just what's so funny about that?? ;)

It's ok, I knew what you meant, but I also knew somebody would answer with my name. lol

Just to set the record straight, you cannot call me the oldest member anymore (age wise). Simbiant has me by 2 years. I'm now actually younger than somebody around here. HA!

The longest active member, I really have no idea, but I know there's a few who have been around for quite awhile.

i joined June 16 of 2001. kraxleridah, kraken, and slipknot8527 all joined may 3 of 2001. those are the only current regular high posters that joined before me. the rest of the older members joined in june/july or 2001. hell, even alex westerman, the godfather of these forums has a join date of july 19.

Im just wondering, am I still a newbie? I have only been registered on this site for about 3 months.

And this is my 700th post. But I will agree, most of them have been crap, I just figured that out. I also just started to not post as much crap. When I post crap, PM me and I will delete it.

The test of awesomeness is knowing the extreme old school boards. looking at the join dates, I'm the oldest one on the boards in this thread.

Me and Kraken tie so far, I bet some mod will kick our asses though.

Who is the oldest member by join date on this site?

You're all freshmen BTW.

I joined way back on July 10, 2001, just days before the switch over from Thrillride! to Coasterforum. I don't consider myself that old of a member, because of the few that have posting seniority over me and because I don't post half as much as them. And then there's guys like Phil who have more than 4 times as many posts as me, and joined almost a year later.

I believe IslandKG joined (random word in bold), before anyone you mentioned.

Magnum Robert

^ The statement...

the rest of the older members joined in june/july or 2001.
...is not true, because IslandKG is among the older members, who did NOT join in june/july of 2001.

It looks like Thrillnetwork was the person that started it all. I read some of the threads that he started. One of them said....

a lot of older posters did join in june 2001, that must have been when the site opened. I remember it been open before that, and having to sign up again?

SFGadvKing
09-12-2004, 02:45 PM
i believe the first member joined on april 28. that guy thrillnetwork i believe is the member the used to be known as "admin" because i cant find admin on the member list anymore. the guy admin i think is roman kazan, the creator of this site. i cant find the people that joined 4-28-01 since the member list doesnt have the "sort by join date" anymore but im pretty sure i remember seeing that.

Drewbie

Just take the link from MR and up the last number by one until you get to somebody you know. The 00002 guy says he hasn't been active on the site since 1969. Server issues there I'm guessing.

Through that method, I stumbled onto this thread from the first couple months the site was open. Interesting don't you think?

http://www.thrillnetwork.com/boards/showthread.php?t=1909

Upon further review, it appears that briangrapes is the oldest member that has logged onto the site in the past year.
