"More than Phil"

How about we re-name the thread "List all the GOOD albums you own" and everyone except Myself, Phil, Slipknot, Darren, Bimmer, darque, Millhouse, MSTfreak, and Birdie will have their posts deleted.

Well, I should have figured some of you wouldn't be able to list all the cds you own. At least make a short list so people can get an idea of how much we rule at music Kraken.

I made the same mistake when I listened to song's from London Calling when they weren't in the order the cd is in. Kraken showed me the error of my ways though, and now everything is much better.

I wont even consider downloading music....too much BS, viruses, and I have friends struggling in the business. Maybe 1% of artists are wealthy....the rest are working joes like you and me......not to mention their songwriters (if they dont write their own music) are also average guys like you and me.

As for my CD collection........ nearing 300 CDs now. Too many to list, but as Bryan Adams is my favourite, I am around 60 of his alone. Rest of the collection goes anywhere from hip hop to metal.

Roy D Mercer is not a christian band. I repeat not a christian band. Its not even a band. Its a radio station from Tulsa Oklahoma and they prank call people. It is hilarious. Go to www.Roydmercer.com (http://www.Roydmercer.com) and listen to some samples. I think that he is just hilarious. Do you know of a site that I can listen to P.O.D, I know I've heard some of there songs and I like them.

I have taken a liking to Crank Yankers, but they are a little filthy sometimes. I don't know how they compare to Mercer, but I'll take the recommendation. Thank you.

If I am not mistaken, their website payableondeath.com, should have some clips. Also, beatgreets.com has some greeting cards with their music. When in doubt, my TN handle is also my Launch handle, and my station is silly with P.O.D. if you like.

A lot of them are CD rips dude. I could list all my CD rips, but it would take, forever.I feel there are more to albums then just the songs... what about the art on the cover and insides, or on the CD... all of that plus the songs add up to make a good album. (Although the songs are the most important part)

I have somewhere between 150 and 200 CDs. Although last time we counted my dad had over 1,000 CDs from the 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's, and early 90s.

yea, I could say its cause Christian rock is better, but, I don't really believe that. I don't listen to anything mainstream, Christian or otherwise. I listen to...different stuff.

Agreed.

The whole mp3 player concepts diminishes the artistic power of the album, so I tend to have a distaste for them.

Ok it's getting scary when I agree with Kraken more than once in a year ;) lol j/k

I buy CD's as well. I might buy them used off ebay or secondspin.com, but at least I'm not stealing from the artist by downloading it, then burning it to a CD.

What I do now is check them out from the local library to see if I like them, if I do I go buy the CD.

I do like the artwork on CD's, but latley the record companies have been cutting back on that for cost-saving, or paper-saving reasons. I remember when some CD's booklets were so big they'd barely squeeze in the sleeve.

Now they fall out they are so skinny. lol

ARE YOU GAY?

I think everyone should know the answer to that by now.

^ Not enough people have heard of The Band. They were amazing back in the 60's and 70's. Some of there work with Dylan is stunning. I need to get a copy of his Genuine Live '66 Bootleg set sometime soon. I can't get enough of the band on that tour. Robbie Robertson has to be one of the best guitarists ever. I have all of you here beat with my CD collection, but the reason why is a bit unfair.

I am a free-lance DJ. I go to a party with close to 2,000 CDs.

This doesn't even come close to my collection of vinyl, which is somewhere near 15,000 records. For those of you who are too young to know what vinyl is....those are those BIG black CDs that you put a needle on to play them.

My music is in every possible category with too many artists and songs to mention. I am slowly in the process of MP3ing everything, so I can DJ with 2 IPods.

If you haven't seen...check out the IDJ at www.numark.com. I am waiting for the next generation of this unit to be released...it will have pitch bend, which will allow me to mix. The first generation unit does not have pitch bend.

Have you seen The Last Waltz? It is quite a great film.

I haven't seen it yet but I want to get it really soon. Martin Scorcese is a genius. If its anything like "No Direction Home" in terms of organization and overall greatness it will easily be one of my favorite films.
