That. I got in line with my mom, but as we got there, i wanted to turn back, and she didn't let me, and then I realized I can just exit the ride, but she pulled the restraint down before I could.

Growing up with Cedar Point, naturally it was Corkscrew. I thought of it as a huge step forward for myself, but I was convinced that it can't be worse than Gemini so I'll give it a shot. After I didn't fall out of it, nor Raptor, I was hooked on inversions.

As funny as it is, my first looping coaster was actually the first coaster to incorporate a sucessful vertical loop into it's layout. Of course, as all of you guys know thats Revolution at Six Flags Magic Mountain. It would have been Viper but I was too short, so I rode Revolution. I think it's pretty cool how it all worked out. :D

Ya know, I really can't remember which ride it was with any certainty...after all, while I have been riding coasters in one form or another since I was what, 10 or just a little younger, I always had a major fear of going on one that went upside down. Then when I was about 17, I lost a bet with a friend of mine at PKD and had to ride the boat that swung upside down....since that was the ride of his choice for me to conquer.
Well, I rode it, and truthfully, I do not recall which coaster with inversions I rode first - but I have narrowed it down to three. Less likely are Shockwave at PKD (it was a stand-up which I wasnt scared of, but had never been on....so that would have been humongous for me) or Loch Ness Monster at BGW (due to the fact that the bet was lost at PKD, but with visits to both parks it is possible). Most likely it was Anaconda at PKD. However I am sure that it was one of them...just not sure which, after all, for me that was 12-13 years ago. Guess I am just gettin' forgetful in my old age.

Ahhh I was around 9 or 10 before I gathered up the courage (and by that I mean forced by my old babysitter) to ride Corkscrew at CP. I just remember getting into the OTSR for the first time and feeling like I was in a trap. Right before the loop, I put a death grip on the handles and closed my eyes tightly. After coming out of the loop, I was just relieved that there was no feeling of falling upside down, even though now I crave it.
It's funny, after that I realized when your friends try to get you on a ride you don't want to go on; they could care less if you overcome your fears, a person just get's an overpowering demonic sensation from seeing others afraid or suffering through a situation in which their body is telling them to flee, but they can't.

^If you crave the feeling of falling while upside-down, then you need to experience Mr. Freeze at SFStL or SFOT. When you come through the top hat backwards, the train has lost enough speed that it doesn't have the momentum to pin you to the seat anymore. You literally float and begin to fall on your lap bar upside-down. Losing your positive g-force while upside-down 150ft above the ground and falling on your lap bar is one of the scariest, yet most fun experiences you'll have on a coaster. It is insane. I highly encourage you to make it to one of these parks.

Dragon Mountain at Marineland (http://www.rcdb.com/metric/quicksearch.htm?quicksearch=dragon+mountain). Before that I was still pretty scared being upside down, and when when I was on that coaster when the train goes to the loops my head simply went to the train floor...

I know what you mean, I finally got to ride the batman side of Chiller a few weeks ago, and going backwards through an inverted tophat in the front seat is a great scary, but very fun, experience. i know what you mean when it feels like your falling out of the seat.

My first looping coaster was GASM at SFGAdv in 1989 (the first year it opened.) 7 loops at once for my first ride. pretty crazy. I think I wimped out and closed my eyes the whole ride and held on tight hoping it was over, I was only 10. The first looper that I appreciated was 2 years later at BGW on the Loch Ness.

My first looper was the Corkscrew at Knott's Berry Farm...... I think I was eight yo. Had to wait a couple years after it opened cause I was too short.

There used to be a commercial on local TV back in the mid 70's with a jingle with the lyrics:
"K is for KIDS, and KIDS are for Knott's,
They go wild, wild, wild".
I can't remember the rest, but the first time I went through the first loop I screamed, "WILD! WILD! WILD!"
I was tall enough to ride Montezoomas Revenge, but was too chicken.
My next Looper was The Revolution at Magic Mountain.....( I refuse to call it SIX FLAGS, cause when I went there they still had the trolls and it was an independent park......
I did ride Collosuss on a 8th grade field trip and I won't ride it again.

My first was Jet Scream at Six Flags St. Louis - now Viper at Astroworld. I rode it when I was like 5 or something and there was only a single lapbar for both seats. I rode with my dad who at that time was about 20 times the size of me so the bar stopped approximately 4 feet from my lap (measured in kid distance). I'm convinced I would have fallen out had he not held on to the back of my neck like I was a cat.

My first looping coaster was the first looping coaster made...Revolution at SFMM Actually, more like the first looping steel coaster. There was a looper in the mid 1800's, but I think that crashed on it's first test run. Also, Coney Island did have a mirrored looper in 1904, but it was so unsafe and had such a low capacity, it was closed down in 1910. So really, your first looper was the first looper made in 66 years.

Batman The Ride at GAdv. This year as a matter of fact. My mom, my sister, and me were in line for 90 minutes, and I was afraid of coasters, and when they sat me down, I was saying, NO! I'm Not going on it! And my mom was like BRANDON!!! You will like it! So I pull my harness down and we start going up the lift and I'm going I'm really mad at yuou mom! I hate you right now! Then we drop...and into the first loop, "Okay, I forgive you!" And the same summer, I went on every coaster at GAdv. Even Ka...go figure, lol.

My first was Drachen Fire:D at BGW...big shame they tore it down:sadface:, it would've been nice if they would have tweaked the trains and then re-opened it...why couldn't B&M have done ours and not BGT's?!

hmm... Either the Corkscrew at Michigan's Adventure or the Corkscrew at CP. I'm not sure. I am leaning towards MIAdv because CP's has the verticle loop, and I think I rode the one w/out first.

Well I have the worst first looping expierience ever probally.... Lets see it started on July 8, 1998 when I was about 8. I was at my first theme park, Six Flags Over Georgia. The day started out just fine riding some kiddie flats and I was daring enough to go on the Georgia Cyclone or something like that. I got on, got it over with it was scary... then my mom had this brilliant idea "Lets try a bigger one" I was like OMG I was just scared crapless and now you wanna go bigger... So we get in line for the Mindbender roller coaster and my mom being the liar she is say it has no loops in it. So I'm like if this has any type of loop-de-loop at all im never talking to you again. Well as we got farther and farther up the line I could see more and more of the coaster... Untill Sudenly I saw 2.. I repeat 2 massive loops. (I was 8) I was like mom you liar look at those and she said... Michael those are not to this ride there to another one. So being a dumb little 8 year old I believed her... So finally we get in the seat and all there was was a little metal bar that goes over your knee's, so I figured it couldnt go upside down... Sure enough we get a goin down the hill and theres loop number one comming right up. I immediatly start balling my eyes out. Then we actually go up side down and I can feel my legs slipping out of the restraint. My mom grabbed my legs so I didnt fall out and she told me not to be such a baby... So the rest of the ride I stuck my head under the little restraint even through the second loop and cried. After it was over I told my mom I hated her and I never wanted to talk to her again... Yea so theres my first looper story.

My first looping coaster was Jet Scream at SFSTL. I got up the nerve to ride it in 1988 the last weekend of the operating season. Coincidentally, that was the last year it was at SFSTL before heading to Astroworld. I remember how smooth it was, as the only other coasters I had it to compare to were the Screamin' Eagle and the Mine Train. It scared the pants off of me. I LOVE any Schwarzkopf coaster one for the smoothness you generally get with them, secondly because I have fond memories of a Schwarzkopf as my first looping coaster. It's sad that this particular coaster may meet is dimise soon.

Maybe it wasn't you, but there was this kid about13-14 on B:TR this year that was scared crapless, and his mom had to force him into the seat. One of the best freakouts ever.

Mine was the Jet Scream @ SFSTL when I was probably 6 or 7. Back then there was only one lap bar going across both seats, and I rode with my dad, who was significantly bigger than me, so the lap bar stopped what seemed about 6 inches off my lap. I remember hanging at the top of the loop, screaming that I was gonna fall out, and my dad just laughed. Guess thats why I like coasters - scared the poop outta me.

My first was sooperdooperLooper at Hersheypark. My dad all but forcibly dragged me on it. I was so scared, I scrambled across the train and down the exit stairs the first time he tried to get me on. Now, I ride it, and it's a walk in the park.
