Going upsidedown doesn't do much for me, except on inverted coasters, my favorite being Batman: The Ride. As far as looping non-inverted coasters go, California Screamin' is the way to go. Son of Beast is a possibility too, but when I went on it it was too violent. They say it's better now.

[ This Message was edited by: Grasshopper on 2001-05-05 18:38 ]
Top Gun: The Jet Coaster at Paramount's Carowinds is my favorite looping coaster. As a matter of fact, it's the only looping coaster in my top ten.

I have never heard of an upside down rollercoaster, but it would be a good idea. An upside down rollercoaster, what will you people in this forum think up next. man i tell you what this should be a wild rumor.

05-05-2001, 07:50 PM
Fine, A rollercoaster that goes upside down

05-05-2001, 08:05 PM

05-05-2001, 08:11 PM
A roller coaster that goes upside down?
Mine is Riddler's Revenge. Of course, I have been on too many coasters.
If I could chose among coasters I've never been on, I'd say I'd want to ride Talon. Yeah, it's new, but it look SO COOL!!!

05-05-2001, 08:15 PM
The best upside down coaster i have been on is Medusa at SFMW

Can't help it, I still love Viper at SFMM. It's my number two, and Batman the Ride is number 3. I love the intensity and variety of the inversions. Riddler's gives some nice air if you're in the back, but otherwise it's almost boring.
I'll get to Medusa West this year for sure, and possibly Medusa East also, so then I'll be better able to compare those.

05-09-2001, 05:28 PM
Definately Incredible Hulk @ IOA, which is easily the best B&M inverting coaster. Tied for Second are Montu and Dragon Kahn (Spains 8 inversion B&M)

05-09-2001, 07:00 PM
You need only to look at my signature to see my favorite.

05-09-2001, 07:07 PM
Alpengeist, however Hulkie is great too

05-09-2001, 07:12 PM
Top Gun at PGA. You can't beat that 4.8 g loop and then the 4.8 g helix. Since it was the second inverted coaster i think they where still expirementing and got a little crazy with this one. THATS WHY I LOVE IT!

05-09-2001, 07:31 PM
Batman: The Ride at SFMM! It's even better than Riddler's.

05-09-2001, 08:58 PM
adr315 Wow you were on Dragon Khan that must have been so cool. I guess you liked the launching of Hulk alot better then just a normal lift hill. But still that would have been my favorite

05-09-2001, 09:37 PM
Medusa East, with Raptor close behind.

05-09-2001, 09:43 PM
Truthfully, i went on Dragon Kahn 3 years ago, and it was my first inverting coaster, and i didnt know a thing about coasters, so i dont really remember the experience very well. What i DO KNOW, is that its very similar to Kumba. Only differences is that the first loop doesnt go around the lift hill, and that after the cobra roll and breaks, it does a loop before the interlocking corkscrews. Besides the second loop, all elements are identical to Kumba, and in the same order....here is the order:
1) Vertical Loop (1 inversion)
2) Dive Loop (1 inversion)
3) Zero G Roll (1 Inversion)
4) cobra Roll (2 inversions)
Break Run
5) Vertical Loop (1 Inversion)
6) Interlocking Corkscrews (2 inversions)
Add it up, and u get an 8 inverting SMOOTH B&M

Top Gun: The Jet Coaster at Paramount's Carowinds is my favorite looping coaster. As a matter of fact, it's the only looping coaster in my top ten.
Amen to that . Top Gun is my favorite looper as well with Volcano: The Blast Coaster right with it.

05-09-2001, 10:27 PM
Volcano's only real point was the launch. The Zero-G rolls were almost nothing. It needed some big loops or drops, and they should change that part about sending the only drop into the brakes.

05-10-2001, 09:38 PM
E-mail me Medusa1861@aol.com so i can talk to someone about coasters

05-10-2001, 11:22 PM
Riddlers Revenge is my all time favorite looper
Batman TR
Medusa west

05-11-2001, 12:07 AM
My Favorite Roller coaster that has a loop in it is Manhatten Express when it first opened. That is the longest time i have been upside down on a roller coaster, it feels like forever. Now it is to expensive. $10 for ONE ride that's to much. Sorry got off topic.

Kumba, BGT
Simply perfect

05-11-2001, 11:07 AM
I love Batman Knight Flight at SFWoA. It's big vertical loop is awesome, so are the interlocking corkscrews. My other Favorites are/were:
Steel Phantom (no longer has loops)

05-11-2001, 03:43 PM
I thought Batman: Knight flight was good I would only want it to have a 0 gravity roll. Everything else is great

05-11-2001, 04:34 PM
My favorite looping coaster is also Batman Knight Flight at SFWoA.

05-11-2001, 04:42 PM
Son Of Beast, without a doubt! When do we get more lap bar only loopers?

05-12-2001, 03:38 PM
medusa @ sfmw

05-12-2001, 07:31 PM
medusa east

05-12-2001, 08:22 PM
Medusa East all the way!

03-14-2003, 03:37 PM
My favorite upsidedown coaster is MONTU.

Wow, that was 2 years ago. :)

Here's how it goes now.

Volcano (that first inversion is nuts)
Chang (great standing corker over the gift shop)
Steel Phantom
X-Flight (the vertical loop is great)

I have a feeling these Spring Break coasters could make the list after riding them next week. Georgia Scorcher, SUF, Mindbender, BTR(finally get to ride onE!!!!) and Top Gun: The Jet Coaster

03-14-2003, 04:14 PM
Mine are:
Mantis-Awesome twisting finale
Chang-Dive loop is great
BKF-the airtime filled drop after the brake run and the first loop

03-14-2003, 04:36 PM
DD - Fire
Mindbender - SFOG

03-14-2003, 05:20 PM
Volcano-TBC loved ever last invertion
Raptor- good verrity (sp?) , tons of speed and power!

I guess thats all. Loops don't really do much for me. I'll probably have to add S-UF next summer... untill then I can't think of any. I've never ridden a B&M sit & loop or floorless machine yet so these are all a bit inaccurate when compaired with the rest of the coaster commutnity.

03-14-2003, 06:46 PM
X, X-Flight, Riddler's Revenge, BKF, and DD Fire are my favorites.

03-14-2003, 10:00 PM
I'm guessing this means favorite coasters with inversions. Well, mine are Alpengeist (awesome cobra roll), Batwing (first rollover is scary as hell), Raptor (helix is best part but inversions are still cool), DD (3 collision point of course), and Volcano (zero g rolls 150 feet up!).

03-15-2003, 12:49 PM
VTBCs zero-g rolls because they are high off teh ground and slow-ish so its fun....and batwing/X-Flights vert loops because they crush you in your seat..but the first roll over didnt do much for me..even my first time i was just liek..."oh..." the vert loops are liek "oooooooh!!!!"

03-15-2003, 01:42 PM
I'd have to either say Dueling dragons for the near collisions, or Hulk for that first inversion after the launch. I love the feeling I get from that :D

may the FORCE be with you
03-15-2003, 08:29 PM
Steel Phantom baby, why did they ever change it?

03-15-2003, 08:58 PM
Hulk, The launch into the Zero G roll is intense. It really looks too intense from the tunnel. It's a kind of optical illusion.

Rail Jockey
03-15-2003, 09:15 PM
This is a toughy. My ultimate favorite would have to be Son of Beast, but since that only does one loop, i'll list a few others:

Flight of Fear
Deja Vu
Vortex (PKI)

2Tone Rudeboy
03-16-2003, 01:14 AM
Loch Ness Monster, BGW. Arrow's finest work- a perfect combination of steep, long and straight drops; a long, dark tunnel w/ a long helix, speed, airtime, and those great inversions to top it all off.

03-16-2003, 12:50 PM
My favorites are

1. Mr freeze
2. Superman KC
3.shockwave at SFoT

03-16-2003, 02:37 PM
lol......mine is kinda funny....its either the slc, Serial Thriller or The Great White at SWSA....lol....one of the few B:TR clones NOT at a SF park!

Leo C
03-16-2003, 03:51 PM
Dueling Dragons, Medusa East, and HULK

03-16-2003, 06:37 PM
Oh man, this is so hard to narrow down. My favorite individual inversion so far is a tie between the zero-g roll on Kumba and the zero-g roll on DD Ice. As for favorite looping coaster, there are so many so close that it's hard to narrow down. Here are the top five:

DD Ice
Deja Vu

03-16-2003, 08:12 PM
I agree with most of the other people. It is a tough choice. My #1 is Riddler's Revenge. After that, im not so sure. Viper (SFMM), BTR, and b:Kf are up there, though.

03-17-2003, 12:01 PM
My favorite coaster with inversions (so far) is Raptor at CP.

03-17-2003, 03:35 PM
Incredible Hulk by a long shot. Insane first drop, kind of a new generation Drachen Fire. Its got plenty of inversions and they are all well placed. Itd be a great ride to marathon on.

03-17-2003, 04:03 PM

03-17-2003, 06:49 PM

03-17-2003, 10:27 PM
My favorite would probably be Hulk because the zero-g roll out of the launch is amazing and the rest of the ride is just as amazing.

03-19-2003, 10:41 AM
I have to say that my favorite is the most underrated coaster in the country. KRAKEN!

This is the most comfortable looping ride I have ever been on. And I say that after an eleven ride rally on Hulk. Kraken rules!

03-19-2003, 03:44 PM
X is my favorite roller coaster so that puts it up there as my favorite upside-down roller coaster. Every element of it is so unpredictable and the half flips where the track flips over also are insane. It's a pretty disorienting ride!

03-20-2003, 07:57 PM
I forgot to mention Zonga (Texas Tornado). Its been 3 or 4 years since i've been on it, so it didnt come to mind immediately. But it is a great ride. Wish it was still in houston.

03-20-2003, 10:01 PM
lol, look how much medusa1861 spammed in this thread.

my favorite is x-flight. thats followed by the hulk and then deja vu.

03-22-2003, 12:28 PM
Hulk, no question. The zero-g roll is crazy.

DD and Wildfire are also great.

03-22-2003, 09:52 PM
Montu is prolly my favorite inverting roller coaster. Kraken is close behind.

03-22-2003, 11:42 PM
Medusa 1861 spammed?? I guess I didn't read this entire thread.

Raptor is good, especially after a few slices of pizza.

03-28-2003, 05:00 PM
No doubt, Hulk.:flip: :flip: :flip:

03-29-2003, 10:19 PM
KRAKEN is easily my favorite. It's the closest to a perfect coaster I've been on. My honorable mentions include Hulk, Medusa East, Talon, Raptor, Alpengiest, and Kumba.

Whatdaya know. . . All beemers

Kyle L
04-01-2003, 07:44 PM
Raptor, then Medusa west......Those coasters are savage Beemers.....(lol I used savage!) :p

04-06-2003, 07:07 PM
Raptor although despite all the abuse it took I was a big fan of Shockwave. My opinion might change after I ride Superman this summer.

Carowinds 73-03
