I saw this a week or so ago and it was on Inside Edition last night. The music is played on a certain radio station so it doesn't disturb neighbors. All lights are turned off by 10pm. This guy is really considerate!

I would love to do something like that, but that is insane!

As far as I heard, the 12 minute long "show" caused an accident and police could barely get to the scene. He's agreed to shut down the show to help prevent any such reoccurance.

Those people are nutty. Why would you cause an accident when MOST of those cars are parked along the side of the road? I wouldn't turn my lights off for that either!

People are so stupid. I would love to know the cause of the accident, because I'm sure some jerk just wasn't paying attention, and now as always, one person ruins it for everyone. It sounds like it was serious though. I have heard rumors that he just lit different combinations of his lights, and took photos then edited the whole thing, but that is ignorant. If you watch, you can see the lights fading in and out when they go on or off. The photo method would not allow that. They would instantly blink on and off. Not to mention the hundreds of photos he would have to take, then the hours upon hours of syncronizing the still shots to the music frame by frame. I think the real thing is easier to pull off than all that nonsense. I'm in love with that display. It is way too cool for school!

I got that in an email. It's awesome! I want to do that at my house!

There's proof it's a real, live, video in the left had side of the video, right next to the roof of the house... you can see a flashing antenna light off in the distance, probably one of those radio towers or something. Also, SNOPES...

There's also a different 'show' he's made to a different song, here:

So ya, cool stuff. :)

Yeah, its unfortunate that some idiot caused him to turn off the lights. I'd imagine he still turns them on occasionally, but he's probably being more cautious. If it took a police cruiser that long to get to the accident, how long would a fire truck take?

I think the real thing is easier to pull off than all that nonsense.

For someone with a decent knowledge of electronics, it is absolutely easier. The only difficult and time consuming part of it is hanging the lights themselves.

Or, if you don't have the electronics knowledge, but Do have 600 bucks, you can buy the controller.

That would be my way to go. Where would i go to buy a controller?

Man that makes me mad. Thats the 2nd one now. Like i said before nobody is going to make me shut off my lights. I would love to see them try.

Thanks for the links guys, I won't be doing it this year since i have already decorated and don't have the budget for it but next year for sure. I'll remeber to post a video next year.

I would certainly say that the Trans Siberian Orchestra should pay the guy's electric bill. I wonder how many people never head of TSO until seeing this video, then went out and bought "The Lost Christmas Eve."

Besides me :)

From what I have read, this guy spent thousands on this getting everything bought, synchronized, etc. It is definately a true work of art.

One guy in my town had a house to compete with Chevy Chase's. His neighbors got tired of it so they complained. He took down everything but made a single sign with a spot light shining on it; <--- The Grinch Who Stole Christmas

It was awesome, made front page of the paper. I wish they archived the articles online...

I wasn't, but I probably am now because of track 21. Oh the memories of my days in Orchestra.

I saw that commercial tonight! That's the very reason I came back to this thread to check and see if anybody else saw it.

I think it's Bud Light, or something else Light. I do remember the "light" part of it, though. So cool!

Bummer he's not doing it anymore. I bet his kids REALLY think their dad's the coolest. LOL.
