Hey, just wanted to comment on how great the new personal profiles look. Much nicer layout.

Keep up the great work.

Cool. Never even noticed till you said something.

01-21-2006, 11:16 PM
wow...it looks WAY too much like myspace...

01-21-2006, 11:53 PM
You're good at observing that it looks similar to Myspace, because that is actually the intention of having the same feel. However, we can't replicate the look, and we surely can't be Myspace. But, we are adding a social networking aspect to strengthen our unique community.

It is the beginning of having several community-based enhancements that have been in the works for a while. You will see a lot of other features appear over the next few weeks.

However, some features will be limited or not available unless you are a Coaster Crew member.

Also, keep in mind, it is in the testing stages, so changes will occur as we find out what will work and what won't.

In my opinion, it looks a little too cluttered. It feels like you are trying to cram too much information onto one page.
What is the point of having the profile url in its own little box when it is already in the address bar?

01-22-2006, 12:02 AM

Ask Myspace... I honestly don't know why it's in there (I didn't design the template we're using).

I think I liked the old ones a little bit better. I can't really tell yet. It does seem a bit cluttered at the top where the main info is. I think it might grow on me though.

01-22-2006, 10:04 AM
I think it looks nice, a cool change from the old one. Updates are always good.

01-22-2006, 11:06 AM
I don't really like it. This is probably the only change that i don't like so far. Oh Well. Steven, when you say changes, is that for the Profile or genereal TN?

01-22-2006, 02:16 PM
It will be to the profiles only, as we will be expanding them from just a teeny bit of this site to something more substantial. For instance, when all is said and done, everyone will get their own URL (profiles.thrillnetwork.com/username, for instance).

01-22-2006, 07:34 PM
Thats cool. Can yall still think about adding the feature that allows you to see who is viewing the thread at the bottom?

Or the top would work. Theme Park Review does that and I think it's neat.

01-22-2006, 09:17 PM
It will flow better at the bottom. The place where i saw it at was at the bottom and its a vBulletin site. It would be good at the bottom not the top.

Wow, I didn't notice untill I read this thread. The updates are nice, though. So good job TN and keep it up.

However, some features will be limited or not available unless you are a Coaster Crew member.

What kind of features? I'm a Crew member.

I like the idea of the buddy list. There were some people who have me down as buddies I didn't even know about, including a couple old names. Now I'm going to add buddies of those I'm cool with. That's going to be my new hobby on TN.

What kind of features? I'm a Crew member.
The full list will be announced at a later date.

Ask Myspace... I honestly don't know why it's in there (I didn't design the template we're using).
Unless you directly link to the page (like the link above) you almost always don't see the URL listed on the page you are viewing. Check out my Myspace:

Here's the "quick" link: myspace.com/sheikra (http://myspace.com/sheikra)
but here's another that gets you to the page, but is not the link listed on the page: http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendID=30311253

EDIT: Fixed quick link.

01-28-2006, 12:17 AM
Well then... it will come in useful when we have something similar.

02-03-2006, 08:24 PM
You should see a new feature that at least you can view (for some now)... blogs.

Right now, TN staff and Coaster Crew members are testing, and we'll slowly expand its reach as necessary.

To reach a listing of all the blogs, go to the Journals menu in the forums and visit Journal Index. Or, visit the member's profile (like mine) and you will see a section for my blog.

I like it! its really neat, and it feel good, not to complex or anything, but nice. This has always been a stylish sight easy on the eyes, easy to navigate, keep up the great work guys, You run an awsome site.

03-17-2006, 12:58 AM
So what's the deal with the blog? Is everyone going to be able to do it soon?

03-17-2006, 01:04 AM
I thought any one could use it? Guess not.

03-17-2006, 01:40 AM
We're still testing it... first it was open to staff and Coaster Crew members, now it's open to members who meet the custom avatar requirements. After more testing and feedback, we'll open it to everyone else.

03-17-2006, 11:59 AM
I can have a custom avatar, so how can I get it so I can write in the blog?

03-17-2006, 12:39 PM
It should be at the top between "Search" and "Quick Links". Just click on the down arrow and go to "Blog Index"

03-17-2006, 12:53 PM
Ok I got it now, thanks.

03-17-2006, 01:03 PM
You're welcome. I'm not into writing blogs, but some of them are funny to read. You wont catch me blogging....

03-17-2006, 06:16 PM
^Ya, I probably won't be writing in one anytime sooneither. I just was wondering if it was open to everyone yet.
