Who is your favorite flat ride manufacturer?

I would have to say Huss. I love Top spins, Enterprises and Giant Frisbees, and they are all very reliable in relation to the other main flat ride manufacturers.

I'd have to say it's a close one between Mondial and Huss for me

KMG by far.
Moser also makes a lot of good rides but the OSTSs are to hard.

Ahhh yes S&S How could I forget about S&S? One of my favorite flat rides at CP is Power Tower (Have not been on MaxAir yet due to my girth)

I'd say it's a close tie between Huss, S&S and Bisch Rocco for the old Flying Skooters.

S&S for the Screaming Swings, Power Tower, and MaXair

I completely forgot about S&S. I change my mind, S&S is best with Huss at a close second. I didn't think of S&S first because they don't make standard flat rides.

Mondial for me, consudering the Top Scan is my favourite flat.

Huss.

I like Chance too, but only for their older rides. Zippers and Turbos rock.

Huss. S&S are fun, but I prefer the dizzy,how-do-I-get-off-the-room sensation you feel after getting off of the majority of Huss' spinning rides.

Firefall @ PKD is a Top Spin, right? If that's the case, then Huss. :) I was seriously laughing so hard after I rode that thing the first time that I could barely get off of it. I loved it.

Would moving rides be considered flat? Like Dinosaur at Animal Kingdom? As much as it pains me to say it, that ride scared the crap out of me the first time I rode it. I was expecting a little kids ride based on the Dinosaur movie. Little did I know ... This is what I get for being there for a preview weekend and not having been able to read any reviews, huh? ;)

When it comes to the Himalaya rides, It HAS to be from Reverchon!! I also like Chance's old Flying Bobs, and also HUSS, because they make the best Pirate rides!

Huss... MaXaiR, top spins, etc.

S&S... double shots are kick butt!

Coundown to Extiction (I like that better) is a dark ride, not a flat.

HUSS, manufacturers of Jump, Frissbees and top spins.

Drop towers are not flats.

I like a lot of the Chance rides, but to me they are mostly vintage. I like their older ones best like Zipper, Falling Star, and Thunderbolt. I love the Eyerly Aircraft "____-O-Plane" rides, and they invented the Octopus, an amusement park staple for decades.

Modern rides I like are from Huss.

i'd have to say huss, their flats are sooooo fun and i've never actually seen one broken down, so i guess they have good reliability

(old school)Chance, for their Zipper, Wipeout, and Alpine Bobs(Himalaya)

(new school)Huss, for their Giant Frisbee, Booster(if you have never seen it go to the website and watch the mpeg, its like a scrambler on drugs) Jump2

Interactive Rides is in a category of their own, they get props for just installing their rides on top of the Strat, thats insane.

Kinda glad this was not a poll

I would have to go with Chance on this one because of numerous rides..Zipper, Rock'n'Roll, Turbo, Skydiver, Chaos...however I don't know if chance counts anymore because if you go to their website and look at the rides they manufacture now...None of the rides I listed above are on it. So if It isn't chance then it would be Eyerly however you spell it I mean come on the Scrambler is SO great and the rock o plane...But since rock-o-planes aren't made anymore either I am gonna go with...Tivoli they make the orbiter I LOVE that ride truly a spin and puke ride.

Based on what I've been on or what I think looks fun, I'd have to say Intamin, S&S, and Zamperla.

Canobie Coaster
04-15-2006, 11:57 AM
1) S&S Powers (Their Double Shots Just Flat Out Rock)
2) Zamperla (A Wonderful Wide Variety of Flat Rides Like Power Surges, Samba Towers, Samba Balloons, and More)
3) Chance (Zippers, Wipeouts, and Trabants Rock)

Michael C

Huss makes the best flats.

Zamperla has a great solection a few thrill rides and allot of family rides.

Moser for the up and Coming award. I think they will be huge some day.

"Based on what I've been on or what I think looks fun, I'd have to say Intamin, S&S, and Zamperla."-coasterfreak14

You can't really base it on what looks fun, because the Huss Jump2 looks intense and thrilling, but it isnt like that at all, in fact I was quite disappointed with it.

Huss Giant frisbees and S&S turbo drops are the best. Though I've never rode an Huss Giant Firsibee.

That's a stupid question. And anyone who would think a ride like that could ever be boring is an imbecile. It doesn't take brains to tell that a ride is fun without riding it.

It's kinda like Sledgehammer (@PCW), it looks insane but the ride is OK.

Well, I havn't technicly been on a giant frisbie, but I have been on a few of the smaller non-HUSS ones, and I can tell you they are a blast. I can tell that the giant ones are fun even though I've never ridden one.

Fastdawg07

Well, my home-park is MIA, but they don't have any good flats to use so CP will do. MaXair was the second Frisbee I had been on and I have to tell you, MaX was a lot less intense than Delirium at PKI. Maybe its location, seeing as how you are over everything at PKI and you only go over a part of the midway at CP. Maybe it was just cuz it was my first Frisbee, idk. Anyway, CP has an S&S Turbo Drop and Space Shot and its giving us a Screamin Swing this summer. So, from those right there, i'd have to go with S&S because they produce some powerful and awesome rides. Not taking anything away from Huss, but go S&S.

One Word: ZAMPERLA!

I really dunno, i would say S&S... but really the only rides of theirs i really enjoy are Rush (high capacity creaming swing) and Cliff Hanger (a REALLY outstanding shot and drop combined).

If they sorted out their shodler restraints, i'd love the sky swatters too. But the restraints just ruin the entire experiance.

I'm not a huge fan of flat rides, as repetative movement makes me feel sick. IE, swinging and spinning. But yet the screaming swings don't make me ill - must be the size of the each swing.

Afterburners are rubbish as are giro swings in my opinion, so i really can't see how those giant frisbee's can be any more amazing. Height doesn't faze me in the slightest. But i gues it's just personal taste and opinion. They are visually stunning though, with their size and capacity.

And, i'd usually say that i think you can judge rides based on similar ones or your idea of general logic, but since all the afterburners i've been on have really varied greatly from one another, and yet none have been amazingly wow (except the claw at lightwater valley, which has the most insain cycle - i will never do that again). But also, the only flats i've been on which have all been the same are huss topspins. They just seem to all be crap in the same boring way. Regardless of cycle.
