Check out this latest creation from Moser. I swear this thing looks like a Huss TopSpin. They have really improved their design.

OK this one confuses me. You called it a SplashOver, is that what the park named it or is that the trade name? I'm asking because Mondial has a SplashOver model but that doesn't look like one at all... yet it also doesn't look like a Moser product currently available... how do you know its a Moser? I mean, I don't doubt it (makes sense since they already have a sidewinder) I'm just curious if this is new. I can't recall ever seeing something like that.

The name of the ride is SplashOver. I know it was built by Moser because the park said it was. This is the newest version of the maverick ride, and yes it appears to be a copy/paste of the Huss Topspin.

This is the newest version of the maverick ride,
No its not. Mavericks have side to side movement like Vekoma SuperFlips do.

Well, SplashOver and Frog Hopper are both open now. I think I'll be at the park next weekend, so I'll give you some info.

It just like the one from RCT.

I drove past the park today and got a few pictures. You can't see either ride from the road, so the pictures are of Outlaw, Dragon, and Tornado.

Yep. SplashOver is near the Galleon and Frog Hopper is back by the Lady Bug ride.

SplashOver is where Mixer was, correct?

05-07-2006, 02:50 PM
They removed MIXER?

05-07-2006, 04:54 PM
Yes, thank goodness. It was getting old, it was never running (when it was, no one knew about it), and it was extremely boring.

I fairly sure it was removed, yes.

I thought that Mixer had been moved to where the Lighthouse was and then Inverter was moved to where the Mixer was and then where Inverter was is where SplashOver is. I have yet to go to the park to confirm this, but that is what I was told way back when this whole ordeal started.

I'll figure it out. I'm almost definately going this weekend, like I said.

Well, I was at Adventureland today.
The camera was four hours away, so no pictures. Sorry.

SplashOver is fun. It isn't incredible. It isn't awesome. But it's fun. The harnesses are nice and free. They don't constrict you as much as King Chaos at SFGAm or Thunderhawk at WoF (the "regular" topspins I've ridden). Like nickolas_adam69 said, it's a lot more like the RCT topspins than Huss's version.
The coolest part is that the finale is a whole bunch of back-to-back frontflips, instead of the usual backflips. This is really cool at first, but gets a bit uncomfortable if you happen to be male.
It was absolutely freezing here today. Below 60 pretty much all day with occasional sprinkling, so I was surprised to see the water working as I walked in. Thankfully, someone's smart enough to know that people don't like freezing to death and programmed the water so that in never hits guests.

SplashOver certainly doesn't replace the three-way tie that is my favorite ride in the park (Tornado/Sidewinder/Space Shot), but it's a worthy second place.

As far as Frog Hopper, almost no one was queuing. I almost rode it, but I still have a little dignity left.

On another note, I've learned that Space Shot is intensely awesome if one raises one's hands, lifts one's feet, and looks straight up during the launch.

Mixer is GONE!
Even better...

I forgot to mention this. I've never been more disappointed with guests. I saw a total of seven people cut across grass to get places faster (one cut across to the "number" section of Space Shot's queue and cut several people, including yours truly. Even worse, an op was standing right next to him when this happened). Every time I was in line, at least one person jumped me. A group of people started some dangerous horseplay in line for SplashOver and got through the ride without consequence (usually the op will not allow them to ride, but make them stay in line). And a group of people started screaming at each other for fun. Not screaming like yelling. Screaming like "OMFG! LYKE THIS RIDE IS SOOOOOO OMFG SCARY AND AWESOME! LYKE!," only without using any words. Just screaming through the whole park. It was stupid and annoying to all within a five-mile radius.
