Google Maps Mania: gmapsmania.com (http://www.gmapsmania.com/)

it's a mashup (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mashup_%28web_application_hybrid%29) between the Roller Coaster Database (http://www.rcdb.com/) and Google Maps (http://www.google.com/apis/maps/). From a coaster enthusiast perspective, it's a map of each and every roller coaster in the United States. displaying 643 roller coasters in 234 parks across 44 states!

It doesn't work for me. I've done something like that before, but I found international parks too. I have a list of the websites, such parks being Ocean Park in Hong Kong, some stuff in AU, something in Shanghai, and a few parks in Taiwan.

Use the plus + minus - to zoom in and out or select your state
also click on the Hybrid to see both roads and Satellite images

No it just doesn't load on Avant, but I did it in IE. It is okay, but nothing I haven't myself done. I don't like how google maps doesn't update images, at least yearly, or even every two years. Sattellites circle the earth about every 1 - 4 hourse, I odn't think it would be so difficult to make new pictures. I mean, Great Adventure still doesn't have S:UF and Great America also still has Shockwave.

Google uses a combination of Satellites , Airplanes and other photos all combined together depending on the location.

Have you guys ever tried Windows Live Local? It's realy cool, zoom into Cedar Point and when you get to a certain height, a Bird's Eye button will appear. Click on it and you will get an amazing aerial photo. You can try it with other cities and parks (I'm not sure which have the Bird's Eye View.

FYI, Many areas are Blocked out for security reasons, There is a air force base next to SFGADV. You can find a lot, Like the florida parks but many areas only have a 40-50 percent zoom.

Well thats what you get for using a crappy browser. Also, be thankful that there are as many theme parks visible on google maps as there are and stop sounding like a goddamn enthusiast!

This website is actually pretty sweet! Didn't thrill network try to do something like this a while back? The Google Maps API opens up sooo many possibilities!

Windows Live Local is also great, you can zoom in, and it won't effect the satellite image produced at all!

Those live.local.com photos are not satellite photos. The photos of Cedar Point were taken during the month of April 2005. If you look carefully at the different photos, you can see differences of angles and object placement.
