View Full Version : X
Does anybody know when X will open at Six Flags Magic Mountain? I'm going in the middle of July and it will be my first ever time in California. I hope its open by then because it looks like a great coaster, but Six Flags Magic Mountain is a great park!

track and supports usually come up fast
didn't it take x-flight a month to get the track and supports up, same with batwing
the station and testing might take long though.

here's the deal. they say it will open in july, but considering the fact that its a prototype and totally original, dont' expect it to be open till august, if even by then (delays and breakdowns every 15 minutes is inevitable)

I would be suprised if we are looking at an August opening now.
Basiclly, the latest news is Vertical Construction wont start until all track is installed on DeJa Vu. that means VC will probably start in 1-2 weeks. Then there is the usual 2 months building the coaster, then the testing(will take longer too, its a prototype remember) then building the queue lines, themeing etc.
Yep, It definatly looks like it will be August now, however thats my opinion, You might get lucky and SFMM will build it very quickly and will open on schedule in July, but really we will just have to wait and see

Well as of 5/4/2001 SFMM begun moving Track to the X site,The construction workers were also constructing supports. Deja vu already has one tower complete with the lift devices installed. It should only take SFMM a few more days to erect the other tower, it took less then a weeks time to erect the one that's up then the big cranes will move to the X site.
I say by next week X is going vertical, SFMM is shooting for a 4th of july opening I think they will make it. There are plenty of workers working on the X site vertical will be no problem, The construction works are not only busy with the X site.
The bridge, the path leading all the way to the que is finished. So all SFMM has to do is construct X, constuct the station which the foundations is already been finished, TEST X, put in the swich backs and X opens.

[ This Message was edited by: X2001 on 2001-05-06 12:17 ]
Look at your keyboard- right next to the "A" is a key called "Caps Lock." Learn how to use it.

youll be awfully lucky if x is open by the middle of july, onve construction is finished one of two things can happen....
the guide rails work, the ride runs is open the next week....
the guide rails dont work a massive overhauls is required, new parts ordered, new sytems designed, a complete rethought of the idea....
this is because it is the special guide rails in the track that control how the indivdual cars move they either work or they dont....
