Forget that "Hannibel" garbage, the best is still the original "Silence of the Lambs"! "Titanic" was awesome as well, but not because of Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio. I was a Titanic fanatic before and after the movie, and that movie payed so much attention to detail, it was an amazing thing to watch. (Unfortunately, the movie spawned tons of self proclaimed Titanic afficionados.) Also, I like a lot of movies you guys already listed, so I'm not going into them.
2) Trainspotting (forget the needle, sell the stuff while doing everything to killer tunes)
3) Gladiator (epic proportions)
4) A life Less Ordinary (wildly twisted)
5) Practical Magic (what can I say, it has my 2 favorite ladies )
6) A Clockwork Orange (sex crazed homocidal maniacs drinking milk and cranking Beethoven, wow thats original )
7) Gone in 60 seconds (gotta love the cars)
8 ) The Fast and the Furious (speed junkie and ladies wearing thongs, this is definitely aimed at men...is that so wrong???)
9) Fight Club (what an incredibly cool story with a wild turn around finish that throws everyone for a loop)
10) Cemetary Man (great cult style film, a true black comedy at its very roots, you don't know whether to laugh or be wierded out. The ending is truly the best part)

Wow! Out of all these replies I only saw one person mention a Godfather film and it was The Godfather II. That, indeed, was a great film, one of my top ten, but my all time favorite movie and one of the greatest ever made is The Godfather. I also like Psycho, the original one from 1960. The remake was crap. Casablanca, The Wizard of Oz, Citizen Kane, The Bridge on the River Kwai, M*A*S*H, and many, many others. As you can see, I love classics. Movies nowadays just don't have what these old films have. Have any of you ever seen a Hitchcock film? That guy could keep anyone at the edge of their seat and he never had blood exploding out of people's eyes to do it. He was a true genius!

As for comedies, most are classics, again.

1.Duck Soup starring the Marx Brothers!
2.Animal Crackers. Another Marx Brothers film! You people have got to watch these!
3.Dumb and Dumber, I guess. Very funny!

The first two "Alien" movies were really great.

Just about any movie by Stanley Kubrick kicks butt, too: "2001: A Space Odyssey," "The Shining," and "Full Metal Jacket" were my favorites.

I also liked "Scarface" with Al Pacino and "Das Boot."
