Which game got you addicted to gaming?

Was it the original Super Mario Bros? Was it Gran Turismo? Final Fantasy IV? Chrono Trigger? Donkey Kong? Which game started it off for you?

I'd have to say that it was the original Super Mario Bros for the NES. I can remember going to the arcade before that to play Donkey Kong, or Pac Man, or even Journey the arcade game (how many people remember that?) It was when I was finally able to play the arcade games in my living room that I was really hooked. I remember saying the phrase "hurry up and die already" many times just so I could get my turn in. I reached my pinacle when I was able to beat Super Mario Bros without dying (yes I did use the warp zones).

pole position2 and double dragon for the old atari system got me addicted to consoles. warcraft2 got me addicted to the pc. it was the first game i couldn't go a day without playing

Okay...don't laugh. It was the Intellivision game system that got me hooked.

sonic, the first one. However the first game I ever played was the loony toons one for the genises

First off was the Sonic games, I think number 2 was my favorite. However, the one that got me interested in N64 would be Mario Kart.

For me it was definately Smurfs on Calekovision (sp?). When I was about 7 I would go to my friends house and we would play that game over and over again. I also remember playing Double Dragons, but I can't remember which system it was on. Then came the various Mario games on NES, and then the game that made me fall in love with RPG's... The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past for SNES.

I didn't get hooked until late and it was DKC for the SNES that got me hooked.

Mine was a slow descent into madness... The Legen of Zelda for NES started it all, Doom 2 quickened the pace, Team Fortress for Quake 1 did me in.

Who can forget Double Dribble?!?!?!?!

<BR>That game had some of the best cut sequences on the NES. I loved dunking, just to see which one I'd get.

it was the Sonic Not for Resale game for the Genisis and then it was the FF7 game for PSX

Whoa everyone makes me feel old here the first games that got me addicted was Pong for Atari but, all the games everyone mentioned so far are all classics.
