I had been waiting since I was 11 years old in 1977 to ride Revolution at Magic Mountain after watching the movie ROLLERCOASTER, and I finally got my wish almost 2 years ago, I have to admit, I was very surprised that the years of anticipation didnt even come close to great feeling this old looper gave me. It was worth the almost 21 year wait to ride it. And to be honest, in my opinion, for its basic elements, still ranks as one of the best that has stood the time, what are your opinions on Revolution.

I thought this coaster looked amazing in the movie Rollercoaster. Then, I saw that SFMM had installed shoulder harnesses on the ride. I have heard its lost most of its punch with the addition of the over the shoulder restraints.

This was true, there was shoulder harness, but it still didnt take away from that child hood dream that came true. It was an amazing ride to do at night, you couldnt see the turns coming. You felt like you were the wolf chasing little red riding hood thru the forest..lol.

Rev once was a great coaster. The shoulder harnesses are rock hard and very painful to bump your head into during the laterals in the ride. The other main complaint is the over excessive braking. The ride could be so much more intense if allowed to run at the speed it was designed to. The last time I rode it the train crawled onto the final brakes which were not even needed as the train was already going the station speed. I wish the park would restore this coaster to its former glory, but that'll never happen.

Revolution is a great ride, with problems. The OTSR's are brutal, and the trim brakes are excessive. How far will they go?

I'm sure it was great when it opened. But they've ruined it now, with the OTSR's. It doesn't have the elements of a quality steelie now, but I still enjoy it. <IMG SRC="/phpBB/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif">
