I agree with Magnum will always rule!. Florida is the best theming state, while Ohio has the best thrills.

Ohio-Thrills & bad theming (mostly)
Florida- not as great thrills, but good themeing (can't compete with MF, but Kumba and Montu are awesome

I think Ohio should be included With Cedar Point and Six Flags

For coasters, Ohio definetly.
For themeing, Flordia.

I'd say Florida cause Orlando and all the beach front parks

Florida for theme parks
California for quantity of coasters
Ohio for quality of coasters

Florida. We gots Disney and coasters. Kumba, Hulk, Montu, Gwazi, Kraken, Python, Scorpion, Dueling Draons, Rock 'n' Roller Coaster. We are the best. If only Cedar Point were here in the south...

I've gotta go with Ohio, gee what a shocker there! Here's why:
We have 3 top tier parks in the respective chains:

Cedar Point- Cedar Fair
SFWoA- Six Flags
Kings Island- Paramount

3 classic woodens: Big Dipper, Beast, Racer(PKI)
Only looping, first 200+ foot wooden: Son Of Beast.
One of the tallest and fastest woodies in the U.S.: Mean Streak. Not to mention Villain is a good woodie.
The forgotten woodie: Screechin' Eagle at Americana

3 Roller Coasters over 200 feet: MF(310), Magnum, Wicked Twister
2 Impulses: Wicked Twister, S:UE(started the "impulse craze")
A Flying Coaster: X-Flight
A floorless coaster: Batman:Knight Flight
Good Stand-up: Mantis
One of the best inverts: Raptor
First coaster with 2 cons. vertical loops: Double Loop
First 6 inversion coaster: Vortex
First dueling steel(to my knowledge-not including steeplechase): Gemini

That's why Ohio is the thrill capital, IMHO.

Top park in Six Flags chain: SFMM
One of the best parks in the CF chain: Knott's Berry Farm

3 classic woodens: Colossus, Giant Dipper(SCBB), Giant Dipper(Belmont Park)
One of the best wooden coasters in the U.S.: Ghostrider
the two Giant Dippers and Roar aren't bad either

3 Roller Coasters over 200 feet: Goliath(235), X, Xcelerator(soon)
A 4D Coaster: X
A Flying Coaster: Stealth
One of the best stand-ups: Riddler's Revenge
First modern vertical loop: Revolution
First modern inversion: Corkscrew @ KBF
First 7 inversion coaster: Viper
First racing steel: Matterhorn
First steel: Matterhorn
First 100mph coaster

OHIO! ! !...3 big parks and alot of smaller parks..USA tallest steel coaster and the worlds tallest wood coaster are the only wood coaster that loops..so Ohio is coaster "Mecca" :):)

I agree with Rocketman23:

"Florida for theme parks
California for quantity of coasters
Ohio for quality of coasters"

Florida, for the same reason Coaster9freak said :).

03-30-2002, 01:19 PM
Ohio is best for steel(Cedar Point, SFWoA, PKI, etc.)
Pennsylvania best for wooden(definetly, come on...Kennywood, Hersheypark, Knoebel's, Dorney has a good one, and the Blue Streak at Conneaut Lake)
As far as parks go
amusement: Ohio
theme: Florida

03-30-2002, 04:18 PM
ohio and cali for coasters, but florida for theming

As everyone else said in this thread, lol

Has to be Ohio, SFWoA, PKI, and CP, and also all of the smaller parks there throw it up there.
