I think the next Six flags park should be in like Nebraska because that state doesn't even have one rollercoaster. THAT IS SAD

Nebraska doesn't have any parks for Six Flags to buy. They said themselves that they don't build parks any more. I think they will buy Lagoon in Utah.

I'm really hoping they'll purchase land in Michigan somewhere. There are no parks to take over that I know of, but if they wanna start fresh, Michigan's wiiiiiide open.

Six Flags Inc. said that they will no longer build parks, but they never said that they wouldn't buy out other parks. Six Flags has a huge debt and has stated that they will be laying off on adding a lot of coasters in the next few years.

Where did they say that? I never heard it. Seems to me like they haven't slowed down one bit.

They are building now to make up for the time in the future when less coasters are built!

Actually, Busch said they were laying off on building a lot of rides. Six Flags never said anything that I heard of which implies they are cutting down on spending. I think they will never stop, as long as the money keeps pouring in.

no, six flags is being forced to slow down because of a long term loan that is due soon. this mean that both bucsh and six flags will be slowing down, giving cedar fair and paramounts time to grow

Since when did Six Flags start building theme parks? I know they build amusement parks, and thrill parks, but I havent seen a SF park with a theme yet. please tell me if i'm wrong.

I hope that Six Flags doesn't buy any more parks for a while, and just focus their money and rides on the existing parks.
I disagree, with your themeing idea. I admit that SF has trouble with themeing, but SFoT does a pretty good job. As far as where the next park should be I say Tyler,Tx. I guess I am just selfish.
I dont get why u guys think theming is the best thing ever. If u like theming sooooo much dont go to sixflags. i dont think theming is sixflags biggest concern

in Virginia. With PKD starting to get slack on adding coasters and BGW's greatest hope for a coaster is Drachen Fire due to AB's announcement about that topic, a Six Flags park near Roanoke (SouthWest Va.'s largest city) would be a great location.

ummm ok i get it. A theme park is called so because it needs more spaces taken up on a resume. The word "theme" in Theme Park means nothing I guess. SF does theme. Not great, but it does theme.

I think their next park should be in the Caribbean
No,No,No my coaster friend. A theme park is like Worlds of Fun, their theme is: Around the World in Eighty Days. Or Silver Dollar City, themed aroung the 1880's. Six Flags has themed rides, but no, their parks are not at all themed

Actually SixFlags and Paramount have both offerd to buy Lagoon, but David Freed the guy who ownes Lagoon won't sell it.

I personally if any park chain were to buy my homepark,I would want it to be Cedar Fair, and Actually I beleive Cedar Fair will eventually buy Lagoon.

Ummm...how about in China. Yeah those communist would loosen up alot if they rode a sweet coaster! No, but on the real, they should build one in Florida if they want to compete with that market.

I don't think Six Flags should build anywhere. I don't even think they should buy anything either. Maybe Six Flags has even grown too big for its own good.

I remember 10 years ago, when Autoworld in Flint opened under the management of Six Flags. Six Months later, Autoworld closed, and Six Flags withdrew. I don't think they would've even been able to take the losses the park created then, which is probably why they backed out.
Six Flags does the crappiest job with theming out of any amuesment chain in the US. That is a fact. Even Paramount and Cedar Fair theme their parks a little. And I don't think that Six Flags will build a fourth park in Texas.

Rockman89 Suggested Nebraska.

Nebraska? The whole dang state only has 1.7 million people. That is less than Denver metro, and Denver+Springs+Pueblo can barely support puny SFEG.

Besides, most of NE's population is in Lincoln and Omaha, which are only a few hours from WoF in KC. There is NO WAY Nebraska (or Wyoming, or the Dakotas, or Montanna) are getting a SF amusement park.

Nitro456,
Most people take a week of vacation, and there is already more than a week of stuff to do there. IOA assumed they could get WDW people to spend an extra day at Universal parks. They were largely mistaken.

Chairman Clench

If they were going to build one, Las Vegas and Miami are logical locations.

That being said, I agree with the people in this thread who said that they don't/won't build anymore parks.

In addition, they will probably stop buying parks, too. They are getting really big and parks are getting left out (i.e. Astroworld, SFEG, etc.)

They should fix up the current parks.

On a different note, Six Flags has no concept of theming. I'm not saying it is the most important thing, but they should really just give up and build coasters like CP. Having a bunch of broken toilets on the ground in front of a ride and slapping a Batman logo on it is not theming.
Ever seen Southwest Territory at SFGam. The kids areas of most SF parks are also well-themed.

I don't think SF is in the business of building new parks from scratch anymore. They should purchase Old Indiana, because it's doing nothing just sitting there.

They shouldn't build anymore parks. The parks they have already suck enough. They should fix the current parks before building anything else.

Yes you are definetley wrong.Pretty much every Six Flags has a theme about the state that it is in's past. For instance Six Flags over Georgia's theme includes French,British,Cotton States, etc. In pretty much every park there is the Gotham City Theme which is well done. The theming may not be the best, but hey it's theming.
