View Full Version : Best Worst Coaster
05-08-2001, 10:54 PM
Okay, here's the setup for this topic. In every park that has more than one coaster, one of them will have the distinction of being the worst coaster in the park. Which park has the best worst coaster? (I think it's fair to disregard kiddie coasters here.)
Back in the day, I would have said Busch Gardens Williamsburg, where you could say that Loch Ness Monster, Big Bad Wolf, or Drachenfire was the worst, and still pick a darn good coaster. But then they went and put in a very average wild mouse.
Now I'd have to pick Kennywood, which doesn't have a coaster that isn't worth your attention. The Racer and Jackrabbit are the least exciting, but either one is a genuine classic.

UH i would have to say SFMM Flashback is their least popular coaster and takes the most heat from enthusiasts. I dunno why but i love that ride i have never been on anything like it..

Flashback gave me a headache. The shoulder restraints are placed too high, so I kept hitting my head.

Well, mine would be at SFGAdv. the VIPER, its a killer on the shoulders and bangs your head around. At my park its JOKERS JINX hands down.....

I'm gonna have to say Revolution at SFMM. If they took of the OTSRs and turned off some trim breaks it would be great. But now it bangs you around SO bad it's not even fun!

Psychlone at SFMM. SO rough...too rough. It's one thing to be screaming in adrenaline fun, it's another to be banging around going "Ouch!" not fun at all. the Matterhorn at Disneyland also is jerky.

In keeping with the original topic, I'd have to say DCA. Mulholland Madness is the worst coaster int he park, but not a bad "Mouse" coaster.

I would have to say out of where I've been, either SFAW with XLR-8 or Mayan Mindbender, or SFoT with Runaway Mountain

park with the best worst coaster? EASY! holiday world, they only have 2, raven and legend, and both are awsome! i think many out there can agree with me on this one.

XLR-8 is the worst coaster at SFAW. It's a suspended, and all you look at is concrete not trees. I would have to disagree with you Texas Tornado about Runaway Mountain. Runaway Mountain is a very fun, fast dark ride. It could be longer, but considering how short it is, it packs a punch IMO.

This is an easy one for me. My home park is Busch Gardens Tampa, and the best worst coaster there is the too-short, too-rough, too-slow Python.

Not to be nit-picky but I think that most of you missed the point of the question. He wasn't looking for the worst coasters out there. Instead he was looking for the parks where all of the coasters are so good that the "worst" coaster in the park is still a really good coaster.
In other words, if the coaster is junk, it doesn't qualify. Holiday World is an example of a good answer.
While I haven't been to either one, based on the reports that I've heard it might go to either of the Busch parks- Williamsburg or Tampa, and both have great coasters and really don't have a bad coaster, or even mediocre, in either one.

Actually, BGW has a wild mouse coaster that was installed in 1996. It was only going to be for one year originally, but it wound up being very popular and they decided to keep it permanently.
The best worst coaster in a park is probably Holiday World, since its only two coasters are fantastic. It's tough to tell which one is the worst coaster, though. Raven usually ranks higher on Best Coaster lists, but the Legend is supposedly more intense and exciting.

SFGADV worst is Viper hands down
Dorney's worst is Hercules
05-31-2001, 02:12 PM
One of Holiday World's woddies definately.

SeaWorld Florida has the best worst coaster.

If I am understanding the intent of the topic, I'd say Mean Streak at Cedar Point. It gets alot of negative press, but it is still a great ride and worth checking out.

I would have to say Judge Roy Scream at SFoT. Not the best ride at the park, but still a blast.

at SFMW kongs the worst V2's the best

In SFNJ its a tie between Viper (ouch my shoulders!) and Skull Mountain (a ride i could fall asleep on).
No such thing as a bad coaster at Holiday World

well at PGA worst is GRIZZLY!! best is either top gun or stealth
06-25-2001, 04:52 PM
People are missing the point of the question. He is not asking what the best/worst coaster in a park is, but which park's worst coaster is still pretty good.
As said before, Holiday World is a good example. Either the Raven or the Legend could be considered the worse coaster, yet no matter which is worse, they are both excellent coasters.

Everyone hates Disaster transport but I found it pretty fun!
06-25-2001, 06:12 PM
I would have to say that Busch Gardens has the best worst coaster. All of the big four look great, and the wild mouse can't be too bad...
