Anyone else think this is crazy? He was doing such a great job! His fancall was straight forward and to the point! Hopefully they stick to the same track and keep this company moving forward.

Seems strange he and Snyder went about a week apart. So it seems there is a shakeup going on.

I didn't totally agree with his ALL FAMILY stance on additions, or the way Six Flags has gouged us to death on things like food and parking, but they seemed to be moving in the right direction.

As one that has worked in a large corporate business, I know the guy at the top though isn't always the one running things.

Did he step down or was he fired? the only mention of Shapiro doesn't clear that up.

"The Company also today announced Mark Shapiro, the Company’s former President and Chief Executive Officer and a member of the Board of Directors, is no longer with the Company."

I'm surprised by this news. I figured he'd be staying a bit longer then this.

I'm in shock. Just after I saw a TR of SDC's Birthday Celebration and determined the Herschend''s CEO was my fav after Mark Shapiro this happened. Did Mark Shapiro get his bonus for leading Six Flags out of bankruptcy? I like what he spoke of and the action he took with the company. I was away and way busy recently that I felt bad I couldn't write about Dan Snyder leaving as President from the Six Flags board.

I hadn't thought about that. If the contract was worded right he should have.

Hmmm...you know what this means. Former Paramount CEO? And what happened to the Paramount Parks? Cedar Fair is slowly becoming a monopoly.

I heard that rumor a couple months ago but I was thinking of the SF end of it.

After seeing Dan Snyder go out I should have put the other part together and foresee Shapiro would go.

They should get 1 of 2 Types:

1- Someone with ALOT of Experience Running Theme Parks and Knows what He/She's Doing.

2- Someone that Likes Theme Parks, Knows about Parks, Reads Blogs, Wants to Ride Coasters, and is Willing to get paid $400,000-$1,000,000 a Year.

^ And I Think I'm just the Man for the Job.
