This ride has the surf curves too. It's the same layout of the two coasters at Waldameer and Seabreeze.

If you take a look at the layout of the ride, they couldn't have much else in that spot other than the surf curves. You have the final brake run right below the track, and the horseshoe curve right above the track. They could have put in a couple of bunny hops, but that's about it without changing a huge portion of the rest of the track.

I'd like to know more about this. I wonder if it was her fault, like that poor Tamara that I make fun of for dying on Raven.

I checked for an update earlier today and nothing has come out yet. I'm sure it will take a few weeks at most.

Was it at the 180 curve, that big u turn of an element?

Inspectors examine safety restraint on roller coaster ride - WAFB Channel 9, Baton Rouge, LA | (http://www.wafb.com/Global/story.asp?S=12794056)

So far the death is still a mystery.

Seems the restraints were working on the ride. I still wonder if the computer failed and let it go unlocked.

I was there a few days before this accident happened. I rode the ride several times. The only issue I saw was at times the lap bars would not unlock when the ride operator unlocked them from the control panel. He had to physically get under the train to release (and maybe lock) the bars.
Later that night, something happend and sounded like something came loose under the train and you could hear the loud clanking under the train as it made its way to the part aove the track where they emergency stopped it there. It sounded like something came loose under the train and was hanging off.

This is the only way I can see how she got ejected; that the attendent didn't fully hand lock the restraints. That or she pushed up on the bar with her legs/thighs/hips or hands so it wouldn't be so tight on her. And the 180^ turn she flew out as the restraint couldn't so its job properly.

If they had issues with one of the cars, I don't know why they didn't trade them out for one of the trains they have in the maintnence shed out by the waterpark. You can see the trains in there.
