View Full Version : How many coasters have you "barfed" on in your life?
05-10-2001, 10:01 AM
Lucky for me I have only gotten sick after I had rode the magnum and not while I was actually riding it, whew!!
I could only imagine, just throwing up in the air, and having it hit somebody's face who was sitting behind you.
05-10-2001, 10:04 AM
I've never thrown up from rides, and in fact, as far as I can remember, I've only seen it happen (From the station luckily!) once or twice.
05-10-2001, 10:40 AM
Never, though I have gotten headaches on certain rides. Rock 'N' Rollercoaster gave me a headache.
05-10-2001, 12:07 PM
None for me, but the other night at SFMW's season passholder event, we were coming into the station on Medusa and noticed the op pouring sand on the ground near the loading area. Someone apparently lost their dinner after a ride. It's the first time I've ever seen anyone lose their stomachs on a ride. Nasty. Peace.

I've never gotten sick on any thrill rides. I've only saw the remenants of somebody getting sick on the exit ramp of Kraken. There was also a person with a severe headache just as you exit the ride. I know that the two was unrelated.
05-10-2001, 12:15 PM
I have seen twice where someone either lost their lunch, or lost some "fluids" on Montu.
The employees got all kinds of chemicals and a powerful hose and spent about 10 minutes cleaning the area, then they send the coaster out empty, for what I call the "spin cycle" and dry it off.
05-10-2001, 02:30 PM
I have never gotten sick after a ride, but a friend my mine lost his $10 Coasters dinner after riding Magnum last year. He started puking on the brake run before entering the station, then continued to puke over the railing after we got off the ride. I had to plug my ears so I wouldn't hear that retching sound.
05-10-2001, 03:04 PM
I am proud to say that I have never, EVER gotten sick on a roller coaster. I have a stomach made of iron, so I can go on a coaster right after lunch and not feel a damn thing afterwards.
05-10-2001, 04:28 PM
Never puked on a coaster. Never blacked out. The first time I rode Raptor, I got a little dizzy. That was the worst "after-effect" I've ever experienced on a coaster.
05-10-2001, 04:44 PM
05-10-2001, 07:42 PM
Also never gotten sick on a roller coaster, however i did on the krypton comet at SFA i hate spinny rides
05-10-2001, 08:31 PM
I have never vomited after a Roller Coaster, but I have been vomited ON. Yes, gross as it is. The funniest part was that someone pucked on me from the top of the Ferris Wheel while I was waitng in line! How easily upset to you have to be hurl on a Ferris Wheel?
My other car is a B&M Floorless.

[ This Message was edited by: Kraken on 2001-05-24 22:03 ]

never,i have a strong stomach
05-10-2001, 09:02 PM
Nothing, I have won immunity against every coaster
05-10-2001, 10:56 PM
None at all. I felt sick on Colossus and Superman: TE before, right after eating.
05-11-2001, 05:24 AM
Raptor at CP makes me puke occasionally.
05-11-2001, 07:05 AM
05-11-2001, 10:29 AM
I can proudly say no RIDE has ever made me puke. Mickey has but that's a different story.
05-11-2001, 12:10 PM
I once saw a kid throw up after getting off the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. One too many drops, I guess. He was running for the restrooms, but didn't make it. It was pretty nasty.

I have never been sick on or after a ride.... i fortunate enough to have an extremely stron stomach, and i don't get dizzy/disorientated easily.
I have seen operators cleaning rides though
05-11-2001, 03:27 PM
Sick, yes once, but that's when I am already a little bit sick. That day, I was not feeling very well, some headache. But I didn't want to cancel my Sea World Orlando trip. After 4 rides on Kraken, I was even sicker. One good advice, don't ride a coaster when you're sick.
Dizzying, I would have to say the most dizzying experience I had is with Kumba. My friend can't even walk properly after getting off Kumba.
05-11-2001, 04:37 PM
I've never came close and i've never even seen anybody do this. However I have gotten a cramp on SOB.
05-24-2001, 09:31 PM
I guess everybody forgot about this
05-24-2001, 10:57 PM
Never actually hurled on any ride, although I have gotten a few nasty temporary headaches on some. I have had temporary disorientation after riding any spinning ride, especially the Evolution at SFGAd or any Tilt-A-Whirl. Those things are relentless!!!!!
I am usually nauseous BEFORE I get onto a ride, probably caused from getting to hyped up prior to entering a park or going on a ride (especially experiencing a ride the first time)
I do everything backwards. For example during a trip to King's Island, I was sick during the 3 1/2 hour road trip. I was so nauseous, I even had my friends stop so I could puke. I then got some Pepto Once we got into the park we went straight for the Beast, and rode the Racer, Vortex, and FOF I believe, then I got hungry and ate some some chili dogs with onion rings or something like that. After all that I felt like a million bucks.
A lot of people eat and then ride and then puke, I do the opposite! LOL!
05-25-2001, 01:11 AM
I never have, but came close once. I had planned to go to SFGA for fright fest last year. The night before, I went to a party, had A LOT to drink. The next morning I woke up not feeling too bad but far from great. After a few coasters, I felt like I was going to go vomit for sure. I went to the bathroom and tried, but nothing happened. I was probably too embarrassed to vomit. I didn't want anyone to think I was throwing up justy becuase of the coasters.
05-25-2001, 01:25 AM
05-25-2001, 02:42 PM
coasterqueen---EXACTLY! I am soooo unbelieveably scared, lightheaded, and nauseous *in LINE* for the ride! Afterwards, I feel like a million bucks! So I know what you mean.
05-25-2001, 03:03 PM
Never-even after eating 3 pieces of pizza before Medusa.
05-25-2001, 03:04 PM
On Zyklon at the former Bland's Amus. Park
one kid threw up all over the seat, and you could hear the ride attendants swearing.
05-25-2001, 06:17 PM
When I was at Dorney Park, the last 2 cars of one of the trains on Hercules was closed because someone had vomited. Someone sitting in the front of the second-to-back car must have vomited, and you can imagine what happened then... I was thinking about buying lunch, but after I saw that those rows were closed and started thinking about it, I decided not to. I stayed away from roller coasters for the next few hours.
05-25-2001, 07:57 PM
Once I was waiting in line for Goliath and this guy barfed all over the cars and floor and I had to wait an extra half hour so they could clean it up.
05-25-2001, 08:01 PM
One time, I was waiting in line for a Ferris Wheel, and someone barfed off the top of it and it landed on me! I have never vommitted though.
05-25-2001, 08:52 PM
Well, ive puked once. it was on a bet to eat 5 pieces of pizza and then go ride Flight Of Fear (old version) and then Anaconda at PKD. I wasnt feeling too bad after FoF, but then Anaconda was too much. The headbanging and then another ride didnt mix. Went right into the lake after the corkscrew. And the one other time i started feeling just a bit sick was when i was in the station for Hypersonic. I saw that thing launch and i just thought 'oh my god im gonna ride that thing' and my stomach just dropped. But I ended up riding it and it KICKED BUTT!
05-27-2001, 02:21 AM
I've been fortunate enough to never have nor seen anyone puke on any ride.
05-27-2001, 02:28 AM
I have never been sick on a roller coaster and I don't honestly know what counts as 'sick.' However I do know one time I was at PKI riding the beast, and some guy got so scared on the ride he actually urinated in the train. The ride ops were so confused they didn't know what to do with the train, so they got a hose, hosed the train out and sent it on like 5 circuits before they let people on it again... Has anyone ever seen this happen before? It was pretty nasty...
06-17-2001, 03:39 PM
06-17-2001, 03:42 PM

06-17-2001, 05:35 PM
Never, but have become a little dizzy after a few rides.
06-17-2001, 07:09 PM
I've never been sick on a ride, but while we were riding Mean Streak, someone threw up on the platform, so when we got off the platform smelled pretty bad, as you can imagine.
06-17-2001, 07:12 PM
Not me! at leatt yet... X will be a real stomach churner.
06-17-2001, 07:15 PM
I've thrown up on 0.0% of the coasters I've ridden and I've ridden a lot of them too.
06-17-2001, 07:15 PM
ive never thrown up on or after a coaster. i dont even see how its nauseating. theres so much of an adrenaline rush how can u feel sick? i have felt really sick after riding 1001 Nact at Knoebels. its not a coaster but there are a lot of negative g's

[ This Message was edited by: Stk4114 on 2001-06-17 19:16 ]
06-17-2001, 07:37 PM
Spin and Pukes make me more sick than coasters, but I have never puked from a ride.
07-07-2001, 11:51 AM
07-07-2001, 11:52 AM
I never rode a coaster that I barfed. No coaster can make me barf!
07-07-2001, 12:01 PM
I barfed a GRAND TOTAL of 0!!!
07-07-2001, 12:43 PM
Never from a coaster but that flying machine at BGW made me barf
07-07-2001, 12:56 PM
07-07-2001, 12:59 PM
Luckily I haven't
07-07-2001, 01:01 PM
ive never barfed from a ride but in line for kong some one got off the ride leaned over the seat and barfed in it is it that hard to turn around and barf on the ground????
07-07-2001, 01:03 PM
I haven't thrown up, but I've gotten dizzy after Mantis and Raptor. I saw somebody puke after they went on Viper at SFDL.
07-07-2001, 01:04 PM
That would just be nasty to be hit wit someones lunch if it happened on a ride.
Lucky for me i've never even heard of this happening at the park i go most of the time to, Kennywood Park!
07-07-2001, 01:48 PM
Only twice-on the Steel Phantom(Which has been torn down and replaced by The Phantom's Revenge-also a great coaster)and the Mantis(after the 12th ride on it)
07-07-2001, 02:46 PM
none
07-07-2001, 02:49 PM
I have never gotten sick on a roller coaster. I have gotten pretty queezy, but never to the point of throwing up. If I dont feel well, I just stop riding for a while. I'd rather wait to ride a ride than get sick on it.
07-07-2001, 03:49 PM
I rode Raging Bull eight times right after I ate lunch because the line was really short and I never felt sick at all.
07-07-2001, 03:53 PM
07-07-2001, 04:15 PM
is it just me? or is it a bit pointless when people answer with... none, theres no point if you havent got something interesting to say. my friend threw up once, not a pretty sight!
07-07-2001, 04:29 PM
NONE! If you cant handle the ride, do go on!
07-07-2001, 04:40 PM
I've never gotten sick on a coaster, but don't get me near a gravitron or spin-out type ride, though most other's spin-n-puke's don't really get me ill, weird.
07-07-2001, 05:02 PM
i have never felt sick to my stomach after coming off of a roller coaster they just dont affect me in that way....
07-07-2001, 05:11 PM
Never, the only things that do me in is spinning rides on a hot day, but I have yet to ralph on on. It just ruins the rest of the day
07-07-2001, 06:55 PM
I havent personally but I witnessed a couple.. Once on the Villain a kid lost his SFWoA lunch going into the station (on the platform), than did it again once it stopped (all in the car) than got out of the ride and tried to hit the trash can but missed horribly.. It was pretty gross but the "AWWwWWwwwWwws" and the "EwwwwwS" from everyone in the station was kinda humerous .
I can see why he picked the Villian to do it on! That ride hits the stomach HARD.
Ive felt a little uneasy sometimes at parks but I think its mainly because of the heat because I always feel better at night when the sun goes down and the temp drops.
07-07-2001, 07:30 PM
I've never thrown up, but have gotten a severe headache on Demon at pga. Have seen "barf" before you get on Goliath and Medusa west.
07-07-2001, 07:55 PM
Well, I never got sick on a coaster, but on Tom's Twister at SfStl (a spin-n-puke ride), I got pretty sick.
07-07-2001, 08:02 PM
NONE! hehe surpisingly tho cuz i have motion sickness... guess that dramamine helps
07-07-2001, 08:06 PM
Luckily none, and I hope to keep it that way. The only time I really got a litte sick was when I went on Mantis for my first time, but that was a long time ago, but lately I have been feeling a little sick after my first coaster in a park.
07-07-2001, 08:16 PM
I never got really sick on a ride before, but california screamin gave me the worst headache ive ever had. That made me feel pretty nautious (spelling?). I dont know what was wrong with it, maybe its cause i didnt have my caffein that day.
07-07-2001, 09:39 PM
I have never been sick on a coaster before. I never even felt sick after getting off Evolution at SFGAdv. But what was really funny was that I took my friend to SFGAdv and went on the log flume. He almost puked off the side of it. That was the first ride he went on that day. I never heard of getting sick on a log flume. Then when I was at SFGAdv, someone puked all over the rodeo stampede, then the ride op cleaned it up with a dry paper towel. Ewww. Then the same day, someone puked off of the pendulum (huss frisbee). Then there was puke at the exit of rolling thunder. The worst I have ever seen.

I replied to one of these a few months back, something like have you ever gotten sick on a ride or something, but anyways, I will repost for this one, I never got sick from a ride itself, but when I was a boy I rode a steel mouse coaster at Ocean City, MD (defunct or moved) and someone who was in the mouse car I had to get in had vomited earlier in that car, well the ride was horrendously nauseating having to inhale puke and when I got off the ride and saw remnants of that person's spew on my shoes I ralphed myself. Ride Ops shoulda cleaned that ride up better is all I have to say about it. Never been sick on any others, though drop towers like Pitfall push my acrophobia to near "graying out" status but thats not the same thing.
07-07-2001, 11:20 PM
0, coasters dont make me sick.
07-07-2001, 11:27 PM
I have never barfed but I did feel queezy after riding Montu 3 times in a row with only 5 minute waits.
I have never barfed on any coaster or other amusement park ride. I don't have problems with motion sickness the way some people do.
07-08-2001, 05:33 AM
I dont barf on coasters. Actually I dont barf anywhere. I just dont get sick. but once on this swingin ship my friend got hit in the face by barf..wait...nuttin to do wit caosters
