i was up at cedar point yesterday and while in line for the mantis i asked an employee what there gonna get and he said a clone of supermans the escape in california be a height of 417 ft and 107 mph ...... i was like well that is just stupid because if u been to magic mountian u know just like me that that is a long coaster 3 football fields long and cedar point does not have a large enough land space to put such a long ride in. only if it wouldf consist of turns or somthin but i still dont see it happinin i see a floorless with 8 to 9 inversions and a s&s clone of hypersonic 2000 except longer faster and higher .

First, this should be in the coaster rumors. Second, i highly doubt that someone told you that. If a ride op did, good for you, but if you made it up, it's a shame you have to make up rumors to have a presence on this board.

And since when did we just decide to forego punctuation and coherency in our posts?

Dude, that's the worst run on sentence I've ever seen!

It's a TA2K Like the one PKD put in this year!

And they are arguing that S:TE is not a coaster...

It's a shuttle coaster, which is why it didn't get the record for highest. Just like Deja-Vu shouldn't get the height record from Alphie, which I'll argue in other threads when they come up.
Shuttle coasters deserve their own categories.

I like reading the rumors, some of them sound real and spark other discussions.

Whatever CP builds, will be a record breaker.

I dunno, if it's a woodie, they'd have to start building now, they take a long time. CP builds rides fast, and on time, but I don't see them putting up a woodie in 9 months, not enough time.

I've never been to Cedar Point but one thing I can say is that a ride like that wouldn't be high capacity enough. I mean I watched the discovery channel special on it and I saw a 3 and a half hour wait for Millie. Imagine the line for that ride.

Lines that long (3 1/2 hours) didn't happen for very long once they got consistent multiple-train operation.

I dont see why they need to build record breaking rides. Sometimes taller is not better (Mean Streak)

Cedar Point will NOT get a TA2K next year, but an Intamin woodie, and a B&M flying or floorless

I don't think Cedar Point will be getting a coaster just like Superman The Escape next year. A B&M floorless is more believable.

I still think CP will try to be original, by getting a coaster that hasn't been built in the US yet, like a tilt, AIR, or even something like that Euro Mir coaster. I don't see a S:TE.

I agree with that! Cedar Point always tries to be original when it comes to major attractions or coasters. I hope an original record-breaking B&M floorless coaster will be announced this October for the 2002 season. That would be awesome!

I agree with you completely. When it opened Mean Streak was fantastic. Now, it's not. Is there anyone out there that thinks the Raven will tear itself apart the way the Mean Streak did? Bigger wood does not make better wood. That's not to say that a 125 foot tall woodie cannot be a record breaker. They could make it the longest, or make it a dueling racing, or something else entirely. Cedar Point is very creative, but if there's one thing for sure it's that they will break some records next year.

I see a flying as more likely than a floorless

No, not me...but that is because HW takes care of their words unlike most of the larger parks...Raven was just retracked this year. How many corporation parks retack their words on a regular basis?

I am guessing CP will get an Intamin Woodie and an Arrow Mad Mouse or ArrowBATic for 02. I am pulling for a dueling/racing woodie like Lightning Racer.

COME ON CF, DONT LET ME DOWN! :)
