so, which do you perfer, nitro or superman ride of steel at six flags new england. even though i haven't ridden SROS while i have ridden nitro, i think SROS is better due to its steeper drop, more intense airtime, higher G's and more turns.

Having ridden both, I will agree with you on that. Superman also seems longer, for some reason, even though it isn't. It has a better variety of elements and more hills. Also, Superman does not have any mid course brakes. (the ones on Nitro are awful!)

I'm very interested in the answer to this question. SROS is my number one coaster, but Nitro looks awesome too. I hope I manage to get down to SFGAdv this summer to try it out!

I haven't ridden Nitro yet, but I love SROS at SFNE. Rode it 3 times yesterday (Mothers Day) - not much of a line.

It's a toss up for me. Overall, I just love the B&M design, so smooth and great capacity with 3 trains. I thinks SROS is more intense from start to finish though, cause no mid-course brakes. They really ruin the last few hills of Nitro.

Nitro is newer and not ridding it as many times yet makes it way better!

Superman:TROS @ SFNE

Nitro by far dude

Nitro all the way!!

Look i've ridden both and i have to say there two completly different designers and coasters. SROS may have a steeper first drop but the nitros drop have 215 then 178 then 150 then 100 then 96 then 75 and so on. Nitro has more big drops but SROS has a great twister ending so it pretty even until you reach the bunny hills on NITRO which bump this coaster slightly ahead of the SROS. Definetly NITRO!

[ This Message was edited by: SIX FLAGSXEASTCOAST on 2001-05-15 16:12 ]

Nitro, More airtime, longer drop, and an amazing over banked turn.

Nitro is the best, who are you to think that Superman Ride of Steel is better.

i have a question: just how different is sros at sfne from the one at sfa? the only thing i have ever heard is it's a mirror, not a clone. anyway, my point is, are the elements in the two coasters the same? because if sros at ne and the one at sfa share the same elements but a different layout, then it doesnt hold a candle to nitro
i have ridden sros in md and nitro is ten times better. sros is too plain. up and down up and down. helix. up, down. helix. bunnyhops. station.
don't get me wrong, sros is a great ride with awesome airtime, but nitro's elements combined with it's speed and air take the cake.

Well I've ridden SROS in Darien Lake and SF America, but not in NE, so I would have to say Nitro, for now. Awesome. Just Awesome.

The ones at SFA and SFDL are mirrors. The one at SFNE is totally different. It has an out and back beginning and a twister finish. It's layout is better than Nitro's and has NO BRAKES .

Having ridden both of them within 4 days of each other I have to say S:RoS SFNE lived up to all its hype for me and Nitro while good is over rated/hyped in my book. S:RoS SFNE is great in back and up front it is even better. Nitro worked better for me toward the back but sits in S:RoS shadow. Phoenix at Knoebles gives better air than Nitro.

Hey, please dont leave out the S:RoS at SFAmerica, they are identical...lol...I was talking to someone at SFAmer. who has riden both and he prefered the Superman.

alright. nitro has been modified for all of ya to know. for the three times i have been there the latest it was the best. the first time the lift was slow and the clip thingts made loading painful. the ride had a ton oir air then. the second time it was the same. it was my favorite ride then. i was there last friday. the clippy things are gone and the chain is much faster. you go over the top and get ejector airtime for 4 seconds in every seat. the midcourse brakes have to be there or else the bunny hill would kill u there is so much air. even when the brakes are on high there is still awesome ejector airtime. i have riden it in the back with the lift on high speed and it was the best coolest most airtime filled ride ever. the front now has as much air as the back did last time.

Arlok2, I rode Nitro just last week, no clippy things, don't know about the lift speed. All the airtime was mild floater front and rear. Ride the back of CI Cyclone to experience EJECTOR AIR, I think I hurt myself . S:ROS SFNE has a couple of good ejector pops and float along with the rest of its thrills.

I didnt go on Nitro but S:ROS is just really awesome!! It'll never get boring. But I really want to go on Nitro to check it out

They both look awsome and i want to go on one of them. I think Nitro looks cooler.

Having your feet not touch the floor of the coaster cars on Nitro is awesome because the feeling of airtime is more enhanced. Sure, Superman: Ride of Steel may have awesome mist-filled underground tunnels and a bunch of twists, but that's nothing compared to the grace and airtime of Nitro. Nitro is SOOO much better!
