I'm watching CNN right now... that's gotta be really sad. Two planes crash into both towers. I can't believe them terrorists! This makes me really ticked off.

I am assuming by now that most of you have heard that two seperate planes have crashed into World Trade Center buildings in New York City. Since most news sites are being crushed at the moment, CNN, MSNBC, NBC, FoxNews, etc all not responding, I am posting this here.

NEW YORK – An aircraft crashed into the upper floors of one of the World Trade Center towers Tuesday morning, and black smoke poured out of two gaping holes, witnesses said. Shortly afterward a second explosion rocked the other tower.

There was no immediate word on injuries or fatalities in the disaster, which happened shortly before 9 a.m.

The plane was coming in low and ... it looked like it hit at a slight angle," said Sean Murtagh, a CNN vice president, the network reported.

Large holes were visible in two sides of the 110-story building, one of landmark twin towers.

The towers were struck by bombers in February 1993.

The tops of the twin towers were obscured by the smoke.

Thousands of pieces of what appeared to be office paper came drifting over Brooklyn, about three miles from the tower, one witness said.

I heard that the planes were hijacked, and one of them was from Boston. I apologize if any of this is incorrect, but it's coming in as I'm writing this. American Airlines flight 11 was hijacked by the Palestinians, and rumor has it that the Pentagon just got hit. I can't verifiy any of it though.

A second plane also crashed into the towers, so the smoke is pouring off the towers. Osama Bin Laden is probably responsible. New York is basically in a lockdown, as nobody can go anywhere. All I have to say is that I am keeping New York in my prayers, and to hope for the best.

Minutes after two airplanes crashed into New York City’s World Trade Center towers this morning in a what appears to be the gravest terrorist attack ever in America, a large explosion and fire took place at the Pentagon. Witnesses said it, too, was caused by an airplane.

At about 10 a.m., one of the 110-story World Trade Center towers collapsed.

The tragedies stunned the nation and prompted officials, fearing still more attacks, to evacuate the Capitol, the White House, State Department and other federal buildings. Flights were canceled at all major airports in the nation.

Shortly before the Pentagon fire ignited, President Bush called the New York disasters "an apparent terrorist attack on our country." He hastily departed from Florida, where he had scheduled an education speech, and returned to Washington. Early details were sketchy, but the New York attacks seemed certain to cause heavy losses of life and many injuries.

There were reports that an American Airlines 767 had been hijacked earlier today on a scheduled flight from Boston to Los Angeles, and apparently was one of the planes flown into the giant towers that dominate lower Manhattan’s skyline. The second crash, which touched off a giant fireball in one of the tower’s upper floors shortly after 9 a.m. EDT, took place as many Americans watched live on television.

New York’s airports were quickly closed, the New York Stock Exchange was evacuated, and millions of Americans watched in horror and disbelief as news of the Pentagon fire soon followed.

In Florida, Bush pledged to use “the full resources of the federal government government to help the victims and their families" and “to hunt down and find those folks who committed these acts."

I just saw this on the news! This is indeed terrible! What is the deal with terrorists? They LEVELED both world trade center towers and the Pentagon! How can that happen!? I guess this really shows how well off America! We sure are prepared for terrorists, aren't we? This is actually making me shake now. I can't believe this. It sounds like this is from a movie, only it's real. Two of the tallest towers in our country have been leveled. God, help us!

For those in PittsBurg Leave a plane and I am not kidding has landed and is thought to have an Atomic Bomb on Board yes the Pentagon has been Destroyed this is bad you all dont know how bad this is cause they arent done if you live anywhere near any very inmortant buildings or places of power I sugest you get away from them now!!!!!!!!!! This is no joke this is VERY SERIOUS!

Update- Thank God The Pentagon Was just missed but they were trying to hit it! I say its time for WAR! Thank God We have Bush at least he cares about our defense

I can't go to school cause if I go I can't leave,parents said I can stay.Washington's Pentagon building was crashed into the Washington mall is on fire.There is no more WTC both towers collapsed.So many people is in the hospital and they are calling off duty firefighters,cops,doctors,nurses.This is the worst terrorist event that happened in history.I hate for it to lead into a war.

Our downtown has been evacuated completely. They said a hijacked plane was in our airspace, but I can't verify any of that. My work is a military supplier, and we're going home. My college roomate works in downtown New York and and I haven't heard from him. I've tried his work phone, cell phone, and pager. No response. I'm going to go home, and I don't know when I'll be able to update anything.

God.

Both of the twin towers are gone. The plane just missed the pentigon (it was built strong, it should be fine).

Another plane crashed in PA. And yet another is reportted to be flying near Washington D.C.

Washington D.C. is one of the most restricted air spaces in the world. No one can fly over it.

All the cells in New York have been overloaded. Phone networks have been shut down. Odds are you just can't get through. Have hope.

No, that plane, aa American Airlines 757 from Dulles (DC) to LA actually DID hit the Pentagon. It collapsed a small section of the building.

How do I know? I WORK just down the street ( <5min). It's surreal being only five min away from such an incident. I work in a Federal building and, needless to say, I'm Freaking. I'm at home now, but very unsettled (*vast understatement*)

Someone will pay for all this. God *WILL* judge them!

OMG!!! this is amazing. i live in NJ, pretty close to NYC. well i cant add any more, you have already said most of it. the palistinians are saying that god is great and passing out candy in the west bank, what @$$ HOLES!! i hope nothing else happens and it doesnt lead to war. everyone was leaving my schoool at 11:00. we just gotta pray.

And I thought the 1993 attack on the trade centers was bad. This has got to be the worst terrorist attack EVER! I do not believe this! I am still in shock! I do not believe this! What are we going to do? I bet this is all happening! And you know what else?! The Palestines are celebrating! They are having parties and throwing candy in the streets and everything! I do not believe that! They think that we are helping Iran bomb them and stuff. I don't know much about that, but one thing's for sure, we're going to strike back. Osama Bin-Ladin will pay for this! My deepest thoughts and strongest prayers go out to the US today. This is probably the worst terrorist attack ever after Pearl Harbour.
I don't think the time is right to talk about retaliation tho'. There is no confirmation as to who perpetrated the attack - but I think we should all be thinking about those who have suffered personal tragedies, rather than sinking to the level of those who "might" have carried out the attacks.

I am scared to death right now. I live within a few hour drive of both NYC and DC, one plane crashed a measly 75 miles from me. Pittsburgh has almost completely been evacuated, though my father, as a stuburn man, is still at work in downtown. My heart is racing. My deepest sorrows go out to the victims and their families, co-workers, pets, EVERYTHING. This is a state of war, for the first time in my life. Whoever is behind this shall pay deeply. As much as this hurts to say this(and I mean this hurts...my hands are trembeling), we are on the verge of World War 3.

I cannot comfirm this but the news has said that the plane that wrecked in Somerset County in PA was wrecked By the Pilot before it was supposed to because the pilot didnt want to kill alot more innocent people but they beleive the plane was supposed to wreck into the city of Pittsburgh... But they think that the planes that wrecked into the towers were being flown by the people who highjacked the plane not the regular pilots....

i am about 15 miles away from the long lost twin towers. this is so scary! i have a feeling that a war wont start.
