I try not to be an anti-war extremist, but I wish and pray we will take our time with this. It sounds like we are going to set off a full blown multi-year war. I have such a bad feeling about this. All I can think is what happens if one nuclear bomb is set off. Don't forget, many rich countries in the Middle East don't exactly like us.

Does that matter? All it takes is one nuclear weapon and the entire world feels the effects of nuclear weapons. Do you think that if another country sets off one, we wouldn't? Then the death and destruction go up.

Aight, I just wanted to clarify thatw hat i said earlier, was just agreeing with his first paragraph, not the one about flattening land. I think amaricans need time too, but I dont think people should get mad at those who want to bomb the country who kept these terrorists. Its just like say your mom was killed, woudlnt u want to go out and kill her killer. Of course, thats evry normal, but after a while, it fades to just getting justice, be that jail or death. We just need to wait a while and then make a clear, thought out decision.

I am usually pretty liberal, but there will have to be consequences here, a hippie slap in the wrist and some harsh words isn't going to do anything, there has to be some action taken, it's not an option.

Everytime I ride a coaster, it valleys. I've never been on a stalled coaster or had one roll back (except Wicked Twister and what was Superman: Ultimate Escape, which does that by design).

this is no where near a comparison, but we have had our fair share of deaths becuase of the IRA and some other extremist groups, but no nukes have been dropped, and they are all in prison...i hope the us does it the same way - a nuke war will SEVERLY cramp my style

We do need to think this out before we take any drastic measures. I am in no way condoning the acts of the terrorists, it is absolutely horrible what happened and is truly a tragedy. I have friends down in New York that I may have lost, I have not heard from them since the tragedy occurred. We do have enemies, however, enemies that have weapons of mass destruction. If we take action, there will be a reaction, which will most likely result in the deaths of more American citizens. Also, I have not seen anyone (And I could be wrong) bring up anything about what we have done to them. What do they want? Usually attacks do not happen because someone wants to have a little fun. Usually somebody is provoked by something. Have we asked what that might possibly be yet? Of course, I'll probably get flamed like crazy for this, but I just thought that maybe we should think about some of these things instead of just taking on a mob mentality like we always tend to do.

I agree sort of. What we did to porvoke bin ladin? He hates the United States and thinks we are evil. He is jealous of our freedom and declared that all us civilians are ligitemate targets. i do not want a war because i live in maryland very close to D.C. and if anyone drops a nuke or mustard gas or germ warfare i am SSSOOOO dead. and if this is a many year war, i may be of drafting age before the war ends. it is sad because this will be worse than vietnam and vietnam lasted 7 or so years. and if this lasts say 8 years, then we have elementary school kids who will fight in this war. that is the sad part. did anyone realize that?

we just assume that all of the arab countries are terrorists? how can you make that big of a presumption. can you do it and declare war on them with a clear conscious

That is a good point. If the war was to start, I could be drafted right now. I have friends that are going over there right now, who will hopefully be there just as a precautionary measure. I mean, these are people who I grew up with. Off to war. It's tragic, any way this happens. All I know is that we must think before we act.
