My brother said that he heard on the radio last night that the al-Qaida was going to turn over Osama bin Laden's body to the US. I guess that means he has been killed. Can anyone confirm this? If he is dead, that's good, but I'm also a little disappointed we didn't get him alive to totally prove he did it (even though this most recent tape of his pretty much proves he did it since he said he didn't think the towers would collapse). Be sure to post links to stories if this is true.

There are several rumors going around about this. One is that troops were closing in on him, and another is that he is 10 days long gone and could be in Pakistan. Right now on TV they are playing the video of Osama Bin Laden and his praise of the Attack on America.

I doubt well ever really find out the fate of Bin Ladin. If the general public finds out the truth a that hes has escaped or is already dead might not be good. There is a lot the government hides from us and for military reasons i dont think there going to release this information and just wait for it to be forgotten. But i could be wrong.

its possible that he is dead, though unlikely. us intelligence moniters al queda transmissions constantly. though they speak in code, this was how we were able to confirm that that senior right-hand man to bin laden had been killed. if bin laden had died, we'd probably picked it up right now.

if he did escape to pakistan, that's not gonna be pleasant. he has enough support there to hide well, and i'm not sure how easy we can convince Musharef to go in and poke around. also, there's rumors that he's had plastic surgery. however, his sheer height makes him standout, and there's not much that can be done about that.

Can anyone be sure it's really him though, even when he is captured? He has about a dozen body doubles, like Saddam Hussein.
