Future WTC..........

Does anyone know where i can find pictures of what the future WTC are gonna look like? I saw them on the news 2 days ago and i didnt get a good look at them but they looked really futureistic.(they didnt say they were gonna rebuild. They just came up with some 3d models of what they might look like.)

try the website of the news channel you saw it on.plus i think it would be dumb to rebuild, the wtc had been attacked other times, and god know how many times attack plans were foiled.

Man, some of those design ideas are horrible! Why would anybody want them to look like THIS??:

NOTE: That is just ONE of the several submitted designs. Some are pretty good, but that one is the worst one.

What they really need is something almost as simple as they were.

I like it. It would be better if they just took off the roof section. But if you can try to imagine wat the buildings would look like instead of wat it looks like from the model, I think they are gooding to look really futuristic

There have been some great designs for rebuilding. The one displayed in this forum is NOT one of them. In today's NY Post, the "Towers of Light" memorial was once again revived with some support from Mayor Bloomberg. This memorial uses two large groupings of high-powered spotlights to create two towers of light where the WTC towers once filled the skyline.

I went to buildthetowers.org and I reallly liked the one that gave the WTC towers a golden hue, that looks awesome if you ask me.
In the meantime, though, I also like the "Towers of Light" idea.

I liked this one. Build them taller, but out designed in such a way that they wont collapse, with a memorial in between the two buildings. I think that would just be cool. Build them taller than they were. Show the world that we're not afraid to keep on living the American way.

I liked some, but I think they should keep Twin Towers, not more than 2. It makes it look too weird. I can see a third one if it is in the middle connecting them and is much smaller.

New high rise buildings will be built on the property, since it's such a great waste of land in downtown Manhattan if no building is built (economically speaking). Will it be a pair of towers, most likely. Will it be as tall as it was, may be not, due to the proximity of downtown Manhattan to La Guardia Airport. Will it look like it was, not likely, since the box-shaped style architecture of 60's and 70's (forms and functions.....big glass boxes) is outdated.

My bet is, a group of buildings which center on 2 identical buildings 50 to 70 stories tall, post modern style. A spacious plaza will be in the middle of the property with a memorial to the victims and the braves.

They should do something with like the sections of the windows looking like a flag waving in the breeze, with like how triangular sections rise up to make a "waving" flag image

Liberty Square

I like this Liberty Square design by Frank Lohsen McCrery. It includes a new tallest buildingin the world and a wonderful memorial in the same context as a Rockefeller Center. You can see it better at :

I heard it was gonna be 4 smaller buildings, with a small memorial fountain or statue in the middle commemorating the people who died.

I heard it was going to be a memorial. If that's the case what would they do w/ all the people that used to work in the WTC and now have to change buildings. Where would they work at now?

Atrace its not going to be a memorial, that would jsut take up room in the most highly needed and wanted space in the financial world. New York would not allow it to become a memorial entirely, just partially.
