| | | New Threats? The VP is saying that there are some more threats. I was wondering what we're going to do about these and what exactly the threats are. Are they talking about more planes being used as missiles or are they talking about other things? Suicide bombers is one thing I heard, and that's really scary because they can be anywhere. I hope these new threats just blow over like the threats a little while after September 11.

| | | What with the new information that we'd actually heard warnings prior to September 11, I'm curious as to whether or not these threats are actually "new". I mean, NOW we're hearing about nearly every "credible" threat the FBI / CIA receives, but I wonder if there were actually just as many threats before 9/11 and they never released the information. Now it's coming back to bite them somewhat that they'd had those vague warnings, and they don't want that sort of publicity again.

| | | It may not be such a good idea to release every credible threat. The public might eventually pay less and less attention to these threats, as so many threats have been released since 9/11. If they start ignoring these threats, then, if we have credible information that an attack will happen in the city of _______ at _____ o'clock, or something, the public may ignore that too, which wouldn't be good. I think that not every single possible threat should be released, perhaps only the most credible ones.

| | | I hear about possible "threats" about once a week. I know they are just releasing the information that they have, but they should really just only give out the really severe threats or the ones that are most credible. |

| | | Another attack is almost 100% sure. I really think that terrorists will get us the same way they got us on September 11 and that is by suprise. If you were down in Cuba with the rest of the al Quida and Taliban do you think you would tell if you knew an attack would happen on a certain day if it was to a country that was keeping you locked up?

I don't know how well they can hit us, but I doubt it will be as effective as Sept. 11. I think they will lead us multiple times to think they are going to do it, but not actually attempt. Right when we start calling their bluff, they hit us when and where we least expect it. Also, THREATS MEAN ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. Do you realize how many threats the government recieves every day. Tons and tons and extremely few are carried out, that is probably why the government seems to have ignored Sept. 11 threats.

| | All these new threats are just to get us scared (mostly). All we have to do as Americans to defeat terrorism is to live our lives normally. The whole purpose of terrorism is so we get scared all the time and it effects our way of life. WE MUST DEFEAT TERRORISM, PERIOD!!! All these threats make us feel afraid, we should live our lives without fear.

If there is a significant chance of an attack, then appropriate actions should be taken to warn the affected people and only them.
Also, being a citizen not only of Pennsylvania but of Tom Ridge's hometown, Erie, I believe that the government should release details of thwarted attempts at attacking our country. Otherwise it looks like Tom Ridge is doing absolutely nothing.
One last thing, I don't think the FBI should have ruled out the threat of an attack on Las Vegas so quickly. It could happen and we need to be ready.
