Life in the slow lane

As many of you know, I lost my job earlier this month but it officially takes place a week from today.
As I've been on my free vacation for the past 2+ weeks, I have had time to process the shock of being laid off, and to try and get past the emotions that still want to rear their ugly heads every now and then.
If anything positive has come out of this (so far), it's the way God has used this as a witness. I talked to so many strangers the weekend it happened and somehow the subject came up, but I'd always say something like "God is going to take care of me". Most seemed OK with that and agreed, but I could tell a few were thinking the common "If God is so good, why do bad things happen to good people?".
Well, I'm not about to get into that whole subject because there are better writers than I that have already beautifully handled that subject before.
I will say though that despite my many faults and despite the fact that God warned me in the past on a few issues, God has still been faithful. God is still Father and still loves His kids and will take care of them, if we only depend on Him.
There have been other positive things: I've stayed faithful to going to the gym, I've gotten some yard work done and a few other projects are on the agenda as well if I can't find a job soon.
So thanks for all the prayers, I'm so thankful to God for so many great friends and friends of a diverse background. It's easy to get stuck in my little world view, so it's good I think to have friends that don't always see the world the same way as I do.
Anyway, that's all for now. Thanks again.
