The trains arrived on site today but due to high winds the train could not be completely unloaded casue of difficulties with the train. Testing should start Thursday.

The design for the trains of the ride were released to the public in the most logical place - on the back of a Cereal box. http://www.binglebop.com/themeparks/...e_box_back.jpg - it is the one in the bottom right corner, you can see some pics of Vapire at Chessington's with the Vekoma trains and AIR has a picture too at the top.

To me they look really quite interesting - those restraints look incredibly functional yet not restricting vision - certainly a welcome change in my opinion.

I like how the restraints look, they look very open and not like the traditional OTSRs. The trains on Vampire look cool to, they don't look like an SLC train.

The artists impression of the Colossus trains is not accurate. Colossus will have standard seats and OTSR's, very similar to those found on a B&M sit down (kumba, hulk etc).

Having nice open OTSR's does look nice, but I can unfortunately confirm that this will not be the case.

Those restraints just look painful. If they fit around your neck like that can you imagine the strain onthe back of your neck and shoulders when you go through the inversions? I think I would prefer traditional OTSR compared to those.

Colossus OTSR's

Steve,

As I said in my last post - the OTSR's in the artists impression are NOTHING like those used on the actual trains.

Colossus OTSR's are normal restarints as found on previous Intamin loopers and also look remarkably like a B&M looper seat!

So the fact that the European Coaster Club or RCCGB announced the re-design means....?? They are different, I'm sure they said the cars would have tiered seating like on the Mega-Coasters...

The trains will have tiered seating - they are based on the hypercoaster trains, but instead of the 'deck chair' type of seat they will have a seat style similar to B&M inversion coasters, with high seat backs and ITSR's.

I wrote the recent article in First Drop (the ECC magazine) on Colossus and know the exact details of the trains designs. This is how I know the artists impressions are not acurate.

It just me or does it look like that drawing the OTSR's are choking the people in the front? They dont look that comfortable to me.

those restraints will be different take into account some sort of padding surely must go on them to make them more comfortable during the inversions

The trains were photographed and also taped whilst going around the track today... trains are very open and of a particular design i have never seen before... look around for more details, i suggest http://www.thorpeparkguide.com but also check out http://www.rideas.com for other sites worth going to.
