Mr. Freeeze and Poultergeist

I guess this would go here, since it is contruction in a way. Anywayz, Mr. Freeze is being retro fitted with lap bars. It is official. We were told yesterday at Winterfest. Also, Poultergeist will get lapbars on ONE train. They should be doing it on 2, but they thought the GP might get freaked out. Well, there is the news. Have fun with it.

thats weird that they would only do one train with lap bars, just for the GP. i wonder how crazy the station will be with two siffrent trains.

Pardon my ignorance, but what and where is Poultergeist? Is it a clone of Mr. Freeze?

Polgergeist (Six Flags Fiesta Texas) is one of the many Premier speghetti bowl coasters out there. It's basically a ghost themed different colored version of The Joker's Jinx at Six Flags America and the Flight of Fear coasters at Kings Island and Kings Dominion. Poltergeist is not enclosed, it's like The Joker's Jinx - outdoor

Yea, it is ghost themed, without the theming. The only theming is the station house, which looks like a haunted house. I think it was a bad move to have one with lapbars and one with OTSR's. If some people want to ride with lapbars but the next train isnt the lapbar one, are they going to have to go onto the OTSR train? This ill cause alot of confusion and probably a longer line.

They should do both trains. I think the lines will become a mess if they only do one. People who want lap bars will stand there and just wait, while the people behind will get mad because they're not moving, etc. Do they actually run 2 trains??? If not, then they should run the lap bar train only.

Yea, they run two trains, since it is a full circuit coaster. It has brake at the end and when the other trin launches it goes into the station.

If you ask me, I think having a train with OTSRs and one with lap bars would freak me out more then lapbars only.

those rides look really cool. has anyone been on it? is it as fun as it looks? back to the subj. i think that having OTSR's on one train would worry the GP. they might think it isn't safe if it doesn't have OTSR's. so the people wanting to go on lap bars won't be the only problem. some of the GP will be afraid w/o the OTSR's and they will also wait for the next train. they should have put lapbars on both trains.

Maybe there will be some special boarding system, but probably not.

THe lines will probably be longer, because or people switching and swapping places in the line in order to ride on a particular train...hopefully lapbars will appear on BOTH trains in 2003.

Why did SixFlags do this on just ONE Premier Spaghetti Bowl? Are there others that will similarily be retrofitted in stages?

Poltergeist will run one train next year fitted with lap bars. Mr. Freeze will run both trains with lap bars, thats both rides. The Batman side of Batman and Robin will reopen with its lap bars next season. Joker's Jinx should have both trains ready to go with lap bars next season, if not two then just one train. All of the Flight of Fears have received their lap bars. That should've cleared everything up.

I think it's probably a cost and time issue more than a "fear" issue. Premier is doing retrofits on A LOT of trains this year, and SF cut the budget for improvements.

Are the supports really teal and purple or is it just a shadow thing? That's cool, it would make the rider really confused(not like they already are) but even moreso.

I think Poltergeist should be pinted dark colors like Joker. Any way I've always wanted to ride a Premier speghetti bowl and now i want to ride on even more!

I have a question, is there anyway to split the ride que in half so you could choose the train you want to get on? I think that would be weird to have only one train Lapbars and the other OTSR. Maybe they'll replace that one as well.

EDIT: Poltergeist will get it's second train mid-season. Premier is really busy making about what, like 8 trains? Give them some time and it'll get Lap Bars.
