SFMW V2 Re-Construction

The construction on the redesign of V2 has begun... unannounced. Check out the photos at sfmwonline.com and post your thoughts here.

I personally think that the change will be a twisted slanted tower... kind of like Batman and Robin: The Chiller... slants with multiple inline twists, not just one.

I originally thought they were going to turn some of the seats around. I am curious as to what they have in store for the ride. I hope the dont cheese it out and make it lame somehow.

UPDATE: THE BACK SPIKE IS GONE TOO!

I'll let my previous theory about the front spike stand... but now I think we're getting a twisted back spike.

I think it will include some sort of inversion on the forward spike...or they could tilt the forward spike and make it feel like an inversion???

After speaking with Lance from screamscape.com, I have scratched my theory about the twisted back spike. I think they will just remove or fix the back brake.

I maintain my theory about the front spike.

Well, from the information I've gathered, they need to make it shorter, but they don't wanna ruin it for the GP, so they will probably just angle the towers in a bit. SF said "a whole new angle on thrills"....

If you look at the pictures, thats clearly not what they are doing. Check out how far the new footers go. Plus, if they were to angle it, they would need to add supports to the back tower.

I think I've got the idea of what is happening finally. 90% positive...

Both spikes must be under the 150ft height limit imposed by the city. Thus, they are chopping the top of the rear spike to 150ft. The spiral will be angled so that it will now be reaching over the entrance to the park.

Example: |__/

Should be interesting...

Sucks........Totally Sucks...........This just SUCKS.......I dont get why Vallejo is so like managable with thier preciousl height limit, nothing flies over Vallejo, nothing, the place is a giant dullsville, dont get why it has a height limit.

|____O__/

a vetical loop would be sweet... or maybe like this:

|_____O___
\

That should take care of that height limit!

I have never been to the surrounding area, but maybe there is a forest or a residentail area. having noise could upset the wildlife or it could make some neighbors very unhappy. But then again, look at all the homes around the Xcelerator construction site!

There isn't any forest by MW so we can scratch that reason off, and I don't think there have been noise complaints considering that the ride is fairly quiet (ROAR and Medusa are both louder) and that there is an equally loud freeway between the park and any residential areas, except for the few homes across the lake.

I just hope that they keep the vertical hold as I thought that was the best part of the ride.

Question

a slight detail probably no one cares about but uhm, how are they gonna deal with the entrance now? from the pictures on sfmwonline, the entire entrance area looks pretty much torn up. plus with the new footers going in, i would think it would be pretty difficult to get in. i wonder how theyre going to work that out........but then again, a stupid minor little detail
