If the coaster is real that sounds like a cheesy name for a ride. Sounds like you get slivers.

If it's true, it's probably called Silver Back, it's a name they give to certain gorillas.

I am a pass holder too, and I only got a thing today about the Bud Beer Party or something like that. I have been going every Tuesday afternoon, and I haven't seen much of anything. I see action here and there, but it's all general stuff, like I saw alot of movement near the pond next to Kumba, and it turned out they were making a vegetable garden. I see a lot of stuff going on on the other side of the fence where Kumba is, but I don't who that land is owned by. Where did you see the rails? I heard someone else say they saw rails being transported on I-4 or something like that, I just haven't seen them yet. I have been looking in the area of Kumba for some action, because that is where I got my lead from (I started a rumor thread on that subject, and Dr. Bruce has one in there too on the BGT hyper). Also, they are building a stone wall along the park on Busch Blvd., a lot of cement trucks and stuff has been going in there. I just have temproarily lost hope, because I had high hopes for my rumor, until I finally got on Kumba and saw nothing. I do hope there's something, I just want more details...

I really dont think BGT would be getting track this early into construction. And you got the name wrong on the Thread subject, its Silverback not Sliverback. In a way i dont beleive you Hulk, but i could be wrong. I will be going to BGT next Sunday and i will look as much as i can for signs of anything.

The track is blue because it's supposed to be a Great White Shark swimming through water. The track is the water and the train is the shark.

But I've never heard of a purple tree or jungle. But I believe you. If you say you saw it, then I don't doubt you.

BGT is basically a huge square about the size of a city block.
The West side is where the employee entrance is located. This is called N 30th Street, which then leads to Busch Blvd. The empty field is located in the NorthWest corner of the park. If you drive your car down N30th street, you can pull over, get out and look around. The best thing to do is use maps.yahoo.com to get an idea of the streets in the area. Enter this address. 3209 E. Busch Blvd Tampa Fl 33612. Zoom in and out, look around, and then plan to drive along N30th street. Pull over, stand on top of your car, put your camera on the top of a tripod, and hold it above the fence using a timer.

If you look at past coaster names at BGT......

Kumba
Montu
Gwazi
Scorpion
Python

Now, as yourself, does Silverback really fit with the other creative names??? I dont think so peeps....Why would BGT name their ride that doesnt gel with the others? It makes no sense!

Also, it is WAAAAAYYY to early to see track arriving, even for a hyper. Most parks dont finalize new rides and sign contracts until early/late May. Which means track wouldnt show up until around July-September. If in fact it is B&M, it probably wouldnt appear until August/September due to the fact their fabicator here in the US will have other coasters to make as well. The excavation and footer pouring would take place months before the first track pieces arrive so they will have time to cure.

Why wouldnt Silverback be a fitting name???? Either you dont know what a Silverback is or you dont think a gorilla would be a cool name for a BGT Hyper. I think Silverback is very cool sounding.

I know what a Silverback is.. I just dont think it fits some of those cool ethnic names they have used before. My main point of the argument is that BGT wouldnt have finalized it yet and surely wouldnt be receiving track now...

Listen i dont want to to this into a flame war but i dont think a construction forum should be started until we have proof of any significant land clearing, or footers being poured, or POSSIBLY track arriving. But the rumor is that BGT is getting this ride in 03' and i really doubt they would start construction this early into the season. As for the name i strongly beleive Silverback will be the name. If not i have no idea what it will be named.

Ok...Let's think about this. First off, I'll go with Creative coaster names. Python (6 coasters exist with this name), Kumba (2 coasters exist with this name), Scorpion (2 coasters exist with this name). Are they creative now?

Secondly:
Kumba = Congo for Roar! = Lion, maybe a cat of some sort = Animal (African derived)
Montu = Egyptian God w/ eagle head = Animal (African derived)
Gwazi = Half tiger half lion = Animal (African derived)
Scorpion = Desert roaming arachnid = Animal (African derived)
Python = A class of Boa Constritor - Animal (could be African derived)
Silverback = Alpha male in a family of Gorillas = ANIMAL (African derived)

So...let's review...other coasters have the same names, and all the coaster names at BGT have animal names that either do or can derive from Africa! Now boys and girls, do you know where to find Africa on the map?
