They said they saw track or something in blue containers by the parking lot near two face possibly B&M track because it is laid out in similar way to another ark with B&M track.... hopefully we'l get something big, just wanted to point it out

| | | That's some great news. 180 acres is a TON of land, seeing as CP is 364 acres, that's almost HALF the size of Cedar Point. They must be doing some major expansion, and that could end up making it another mega-park. How big is it already?

| | | SFA is a medium sized park right now. The problem with SFA is the people that mainly go there. It is in a lower income area and the season pass price is right at $50. The park in mid summer is unbarable. It is a good park that could use a face lift. The rides are world class evem if the people are not. I have friend that will not even go. I went 3 weekends ago and the park was empty. I got 11 rides on S:ROS and 3 on BatWing, plus I rode all the other coasters in less than 4 hours. Not a bad day. The main problem is it is so close to so many people that the park is usually jam packed. It could get real big though. The D.C. area needs another park. PKD and BGW are real close too.

| | | Correct me if I'm wrong, but from talking to Sam Marks, SFA already ownes the land behind Batwing and Superman. In fact, I was told that the park owns nearly 260 acres with Superman being in the pretty much dead center of the park.

| | | This is great news....although it's not really news since they already own that land. I love SFA, it and AW are the parks that I grew up with. I've been going since it was Wild World. My aunt lives 5 minutes away. |

| | | I noticed all the land behind Batwing when I was waiting in line for Batwing. There is like a huge field to the left of the chain lift. This land purchase almost doubles the size of the park. Maybe it will become as good as MM of GAdv.

| | | I don't know about the rest of you but I'd like some confirmation on this. I mean it is very possible they bought more land but why would it be nessacary? They already own a good deal of unused land. And if they did buy that much, 180acres isn't cheap. If that is the case, that they did buy this land, than they likely wont be building a new coaster anytime soon. Which isn't the case.

| | | SFA has a real problem building coasters to suit their grumpy citizen neighbors. The rides must be quiet and can't have extra lighting, hence why Superman is so dark at night. Possibly, if the rumor is true, they bought this land as a "cushion" against future residence expansion. COnsidering the local problems, they can't really put coasters on the edge of the park property, hence much more property is needed to leave that extra space as a sound dampener. Also consider that SFA does not have a seperate water park, their current one is incorporated into their park. Maybe they want this land to build a new bigger, better water park, which the park will need if they wanna be one of the big dogs.

| | | I remember that some document that I found through Danimation or thispagecannotbedisplayed, I forget, says that SFA owns about 520 acres of land and is only using like 120 acres for park operations. I wish I could that again because it had some pretty wild statistics. Like it said that SFGadv owns like 2,200 acres, and is only using like 250 for park operations. It seemed to be a reoccuring pattern for most Six Flags parks that they own a lot more land than they actaully use....
