Hey rocketman, sup. i was jus wonderin about the Kong replacement. Is that shaping up to be that indoor coaster to be installed in the 2004 season? If it is, then 1. is it official? and 2. what do you guys know about it?

Also, I think that's it a shame the Islands will then most likely get shafted til the 2005 season. I think that the park really should add a new major attraction as soon as possible because when I was there this August, Hulk, Spidey, Dudley, Popeye, Jurrasic Park, Cat in the Hat, and One Fish Two Fish all had waits of over an hour, wit DD and Dr. Doom each bein 30-45 min. Lines tend to get VERY long at that park, and I think the only thing that would cease the lines would be new attractions. I would think that wit lines like that, they would have enough $$$ to add a new major ride for the 2003 season, but I guess not...

Nothing is official about Kong's replacement and no one knows any solid information about it yet. I think the people at the park are going to keep it secret until they officially announce it this coming Spring.

Anywho, Hanna Barbera is supposed to close this Saturday, the 19th. So look for construction to begin there as well as the on going construction in the Kong building.

Rocketman,

Any further hints about what they might do at Islands when something is finally added?

No one actually knows quite for sure what is happening with IOA as far as a new ride goes. We have heard everything from a B&M 4-d to a B&M dive machine, and one of the stronger rumors was a flyer, but nothing definite yet. Everytime im at IOA i am asking around for any kind of rumors or possible rides. Alls i can say is when IOA does get a new ride, im sure it will be nothing short of spectacular.

OK, I do know what they are replacing with King Kong. It is a rollercoaster and it is based on a movie. I'm not telling you anymore. It is not Apollo 13 but they did have plans for that but it was scratched. You will just have to wait to find out what movie and what type of coaster it is based on

Me personally I don’t work at the park, but I did get this information from a reliable source within the park.

I have a few pictures to post, first of which is the only thing noticable going on with Kong. This is a picture of the front entrance that is closed with sliding metal doors with pieces of cement falling through. My guess is its from them gutting out the building

The next few pictures are signs of the upcoming Jimmy Neutron ride for spring of 03'. This sign saying "The countdown has begun". Exciting stuff huh?

The only possible hints so far are that they are selling Scorpion King and Mummy Returns merchandice in both parks at a higher rate than any other films. It's a bit subtle, but it may be a hint. As for more Jimmy Neutron stuff, they also painted the studio to be "Nicktoon Studios".
