| Gillian's Wonderland Pier new 2005 coaster
Gillian's Wonderland Pier in Ocean City, NJ is getting a new L&T Systems coaster for 2005. The main signifigance of this is that the 2nd last Schwarzkopf City Jet left in the world is being torn down for this coaster. There is one being built somewhere else but it was due to open this year and wasn't completed. So this is where you can see any updates and the new coaster. |

So they are getting a new coaster in the same spot an old one was, and the old one is being relocated?? Is this new coaster going to be a Wild Mouse like Wild Lightnin' at Lake Winnie? |

Wow I lucked out on getting to ride City Jet. I realized how important it was when I saw that it had a spiral electric lift. I did not get a chance to ride the one at Coney Island before that was disassembled. I lucked out on getting on that unique Schwarzkopf ride.

^ I just got my first ride this summer. And the new coaster is replacing City Jet. City Jet is not getting relocated as far as I know. Another City Jet is being reconstructed at another park.

| http://www.italintl.com/detail_page.php?record_id=442 Well, the City Jet is up for sale. I hope it finds a good home at a park that will take care of this rare coaster model. |

I'm sure there are others. I've ridden one of those in the UK - it was owned by a campsite we visited. I don't know its still running, this was about 9 or 10 years ago, but i don't see why it wouldn't be.

Amusement today has posted up some info about the new coaster. Article here. http://www.amusementtoday.com/ or Read below. Wonderland Pier, Ocean City to celebrate 40th (DEC 24; 12:00 PM) Wonderland Pier, Ocean City, N.J., will celebrate its 40th anniversary in 2005 in a big way, a couple of millions dollars big. According to Jay Gillian, the park should take delivery on a L & T Systems family coaster mid-summer next year. He expects delivery on a Wisdom Moby Dick in the spring and he already has taken delivery on a Sky Glider from Rides-4-U Inc. "It was just time to upgrade," Gillian said. "We have sold our Schwarzkopf City Jet coaster to Intal (International). We just kind of traded it in for this L & T coaster. The City Jet coaster is almost down now." Gillian said even though he expects delivery mid-summer of the L & T coaster, it will probably be fall, 2005, before it is erected -- "we don't want cranes out here during the season." He plans to move in a Sizzler and a Kite Flyer to fill the space the coaster will leave on the grounds. "And we will have something here coaster-wise for the season even if we have to book something in," he said. The L & T coaster will be placed beside the Canyon Falls Log Flume ride and will take on that sort of theming.

I guess I won't ride it when I go to the beach then. At least there will be some other additions. They are turning into a pretty nice boardwalk park.
