It sounds like Cedar Point will be announceing their 2005 attraction by the end of the year. This could be a good place for it...

^^ Don't look for an announcement before December 5th as they will probably give Castaway Bay a full month to bask in the spotlight... Whatever they get this year won't take all the light from ** but 2006 will bring news of something Expansive...

That's actually a good why to look at it. I would have to go with you and say the announcement will be in a month maybe a little longer.

I dont see an announcement taking away from Castaway Bay. It's not like they can go ride the construction site instead of go to the hotel...

yeah! If they went 4 years without adding a major attraction you would know for sure that it would be BIG!

I think they'll get something small next year, a moderately sized coaster in 2006, and the huge coaster that is overdoing TTD is 2007. The next few years are looking good for both Cedar Point and the whole Cedar Fair chain.

I think it is time for something nice--but we all know something special is just around the corner for 2007 so I can't image it would be anything more than a family coaster and a couple of flats the next couple years.

If CP did add a frisbee, it would certainly take up some room, not so much the ride's footprint, but the queue line. I'm sure the PKI locals on TN know how long lines can get for Delirium. CP would be an even worse case scenario. I'd expect longers lines on a giant frisbee at CP than for Wicked Twister. If CP wanted to add one, some more beach have to be eaten to do it, either that or ditch the aquatic stadium.

It would be pretty cool to see a Huss giant frisbee on the beach. The only problem would be all that sand in your mouth and eyes. Just like in the line for Wicked Twister.

I see with my eyes an area that would be great for a giant topspin themed to something wet and have jets of water spray riders on hot days and on really hot days deflect water to onlookers... Topspins don't need much room and the que can go just about anywhere, look at the "texas twister" (I think that's its name) at GL. A fun ride made funner by height and water. In the Wicket Twister area it could be a great addition...

I'm agreeing with EastCoastn07 on this one. Flat ride next year (frisbee seems likely from the rumors but who knows at this point) in the area where we see the construction now. Then in 2006 I'm gonna say a B&M Floorless or B&M Flyer that will break some sort of record for something (they never build major coasters that aren't record breakers...) and 2007 will be the big year, since it's Kinzel's last year. How about a 500 foot dive machine? If they get a B&M in 2006, well they usually do multi-coaster deals... and i'm sure they want to be the first to get a 500 foot coaster, so why not? heh. Way too early to tell anything at all, this is just my speculation...

but, yeah for next year a flat ride sounds like a good idea for CP. They've built alot of major coasters in the past several years and have done very little in terms of flat rides, and a good flat ride on or near the wicked twister midway will certainly be a good draw for the park. whatever cedar point does, it's ALWAYS good.
