I see no problem with it. If steel cuts a couple million of the cost of a ride than I am willing to make the aesthetic sacrifice to get more rides like Hades. Plus I really don't feel a whole lot of difference (if any) in the ride quality.

Since in time, this coaster could help to bring in more people, I think that at some point they may want to consider a second train for it. It might not need it now but hopefully the park has a rise in attendance and that would make for the need for a second train.

I can't believe how great this thing is looking. Usually I'm so excited about new steal coasters but this thing looks incredible. I like wooden coasters but I'm not really a huge fan of them but I will probably have to make an exception for this one. The elements in the tunnel just look great and will have a lot of surprises when riding in complete darkness. Also, I love the way the drop looks. You can't beat it, dropping at a 65 degree angle on a wooden coaster. Many steel hypers don't even have a drop that steep.

untrue. Zeus, Cyclops, and Pegasus all have woden supports. Look at RCDB if you don't believe me. Also, Madison has a fairly large market for the Dells since A) its shtland, and there's nothing to do, and B) The population is larger than you may think. Anyway, I'm going to the Dells over Memorial day weekend, and I'll let all of you know how it is.

The park is kind of different than other coaster parks. I honestly don't know how they afford to build coasters at all. They are trying to turn into a normal park with no 1 ride tickets anymore, but that is not how that place works. You know what their advertising is? It is Hades turnaround right on the street. Think of it as the Vegas strip. Most of the stuff on the strip does not advertise except on the strip. People don't come for one thing on the strip, but they come for the strip and spend some time at things that catch their eye. And they don't spend all day at one place. Very few people go to the Dells to go to Mt Olympus. They go to the Dells and see Mt Olympus, and then they spend a couple hours there if they want. Pay one price go-karts? That attacts some people as does there outrageous go-kart tracks. A few people ride the coasters, but so few compared to the go-karts. I have seen the go kart tracks full and people waiting for the them and the coasters sitting waiting for a couple riders that come every 10-15 minutes or so. That happens all the time. In all the times I have been to the Dells, I have only had 1 full train ride on Zeus and none on Cyclops. I have been there at least 20 times. On Avalanche (at a similar park on "the strip") you sometimes get a "rush" and a couple train wait. The train only holds 12 people and sometimes a larger group will come, but they all have just 1 ride tickets and once they had their ride, you have the coaster to yourself for another hour. There is no need for a second train. Yeah, I would like one, but when I think they are out of their minds for even building any coaster considering the ridership they get, I am just counting my lucky stars that we are getting this masterpiece and I am not going to complain if some day I have to wait a whole 3 trains for a ride. That would be some crowd for Mt Olympus.

Those final pics are awesome, that banked turn looks wicked and gives to Hades the attitude it deserves.

Thumbs up to the Gravity Group, great job.

Living in Illinois, I've been to Mt. Olympus a few times and all were on the weekends of summer. There was virtually no wait. The one train problem will not be an issue. First of all, someone from kentucky isn't going to go to the park just for the 90 deg bank. There are several water parks in the area and these are the only coasters. I rode zues at night...man what a thrill. It goes into the woods and its pitch black. Not very tall and fast but thrilling. The go-cart tracks are mindboggling also. Most people go there just for them.

I think I'm going to have to do a recreation.

Off the topic but I found your statement here funny and coincidental for me. My friends and I went to SFKK in Kentucky of course. When we were there, all the coasters were run using only one train despite some relatively long waits. So anytime we go to a park and a coaster isn't running the max number of trains, pulling a train off the track or just has an unusually long line,we joke that they're "Kentucking us".

So as long as it's not an issue when we go and it doesn't feel like we're being "Kentuckied", I won't mind. And if the lines really are that short and allow for plenty of rerides, I'll be happy as a monkey with a bannana in his one hand and his [blank] in the other.

Yes, but Zeus also uses steel supports for the long section of supports.

lol, I must be stupid, or from AZ, either way... I've never heard that saying before, not even the first half. For instance, once at lunch everyone at my table was giving me a hard time because I had my hand bandaged up from a bad bike wreck. So, my best friend goes "Let's ditch them man, their just crackin' your ass".... I just sit there like..."what the hell does that mean? Cracking my ass? I already have a crack!". Yeah, point is that I havn't heard many sayings.

Wow that was off topic!

I like to make my own catch phrases. I try to come up with some wacky stuff.

There are approximately 75 days till I get to visit this park for the first time and ride this awesome looking coaster. While I'm sure Hades will be awesome, how are the other coasters and what's worth riding beyond their coasters? Is it similar to other parks and have flat rides and such or is really just "karts and coasters"?

Pretty much just karts and coasters...and now a water park. I am not big on go-karts, but apparently they have a track that you can get some airtime on. These are not normal go-kart tracks. Zeus and Cyclops are good but short rides. Cyclops in the back is a unique experience. Zeus has a kick tail turnaround and good air if you get a full train later in the day. Pegasus and Dive to Atlantis are just credits. But the best other thing there is if you drive out of the parking lot and turn left, once you get to the big intersection look up the hill to the right and you will see Avalanche at Timber Falls. THAT ride rocks hard. If you get bored, you can take a break from Mt Olympus as there is plenty to do in the Dells. Just bring lots of money.

Yeah you go there for the karts and coasters. I would estimate when I went there last year I got at least 50 rides in, there are NO lines! If this park had like a giga coaster and an invert (not saying that's posible or not), it would be the enthusiast's dream.

I guess I'm in the minority then. I'm from Tennessee and went to the Dells just for the coasters at Mt. O. last summer BEFORE Hades. Too bad I didn't wait a year, but that gives me something to look forward to one day when I go back.
