DORNEY PARK & WILDWATER KINGDOM WAVE POOL 2

MAJOR SUBDIVISION #2002-110

REQUEST FOR PRELIMINARY/FINAL PLAN REVIEW

An application to redevelop a 3.874-acre portion of the 187-acre property located at 3830 Dorney Park Road. The plan proposes to construct a wave pool and a 2,788-square foot 19-foot tall mechanical building, between the main admission building and the Hamilton Boulevard entrance. The subject property is zoned CR Commercial Recreation.
I wonder why a park would need 2 wave pools. But it looks like this one will be out of the ordinary, because it has a 19 foot tall mechanical building, maybe ratjher than just waves, this will shoot water out the top as well. Unless all wave poolmechanical buildings are 19 feet.

Seems like anodd idea, two wave pools. Maybe because the one is very popular, so building two will split the crowds. And maybe this one will make bigger waves.

It could be a second wavepool, or it could be a replacement for the other, and then they could build slides in the area of the old one. That would be great place to show off a proslide tornado or a whitewater zip coaster.

I believe Michigan's Adventure has 3. So more than one wavepool isn't out of the ordinary.

I could see how the would build another. Thats something Carowinds should look into as well as the current wave pool gets so over crowded in the summer.

You can't even swin a foot without bumping into someone.

Do you think it will be just another wave pool. Or maybe one that does the rolling wave for body surfers. More people in the pools makes less people in line for Hydra and Talon.

The current wavepool could be used as a body surfing pool. The waves can be made that powerful. They did surf in it in the 80's. The new system is stronger than the system back then.

Information on the new wavepool. It is going to be at the current drop off site, and it will greet you as you walk into the waterpark and the park itself.

I have said for years the water park was way to crowded. Safety was my main concern. I am glad they will build a new wave pool. No doubt thought they will again raise admission while taking something away from the passholder---this time the preffered parking area passholders get......well sort of preffered since they stopped enforcing any Tom, Dick or Harry non-passholder from parking there anyway.....now if only they would keep the water park open until 9:30pm...then we'd have a real park!
