Well I thought I would start a new thread for this since its new construction. Well it might not be construction but it’s a new “blocked off area”

If you were at PKD this weekend you might have noticed a fence around the bottom of the Eiffel tower. Its now closed down and nothing is happening on the other side of the fence but there is a fence and I think that is good enough to start talking about it (not the fence but what there doing)

I did talk to a guy I know that worked the elevator (but now is on another ride). He said it was for a major over hale, but that’s all he knew.

There you go. That’s all I know.

Well, PKI's just got a new paint job. Is it possible that they are painting PKD's for next season?

They just painted the tower like two years ago. I dont think they would be repainting already.

It took Kings Dominion over 15 years to re-paint the tower when they did it at the end of the 2003 season. They are not going to re-paint the whole tower again just two years later. Besides when they did the paint job, there wasn't a fence around the base anyway.

Simple maintenance like work on the elevator is more probable.

I never knew it was just painted. Thats funny, I went to PKD last year and me and my friend thought the tower looked horrible and agreed it needed a paint job.

well I work for the park, PKD is getting new Elevators simply because the elevators are old. I mean come on they been there sense "Kings Dominion" opened the park.

Thats good to know. Not that i was ever scared about getting on the current ones cause i knew they had to have been old but it's nice to know their getting new ones.

Well the Biltmore House has elevators from 1895 and they still work! Seems like they could save these, but maybe it would be more expensive to overhaul them than to buy new ones.

I tried to see if anything was going on behind the fence last week but I saw nothing. I guess the elevators are the only thing they are doing.

yeah,I think they are getting new elevators because when i went to PKD they only had one operating and plus they just painted the tower in 2004.

He meant that it took 15 years for the paint to fade and whatnot.
