I think I would want to be in the games too, as that would also be fun. Or, I would want to be in the scenery department. That would be cool.

I'd want to sell the On-Ride Photos

I use to want to be a ride host but not anymore. I like working with money, and I like buisness. I have more reasons but thats the jyst of it.

If I was to work in any other dept than the one I'm in though, I think I'd have to go either, Traffic/Tolls, or...

Well I can't think of any other, I really like my job now.

I would want to be a sweep. It'd be nice to be able to be outside and moving all the time.

I would work maintenance or security for the thought that i cant stand the trouble makers that come to the park and i enjoy the freedom of walking around and enjoying a smoke.

I have done mostly rides almost all the time but I have done merchandise and have filled in at admissions. This year If I decide to return back to the ranks. I would consider maybe something a bit different. Security, Photos, maybe even somewhere in the office. although I love being outdoors. It a tough choice I guess it comes down to what is offered.

I'd have to say Public Service (security). Then I get to deal with people that are causing problems in the park. Other choices would be Games or Maintance. Departments I wouldn't want to be in would be Foods, Parking Lot or the people that have to clean everything.

Already did the Games thing, but if I had to choose another department to go into, I'd go into the office.

Well, I'm not in rides. I work in environmental services. If I chose another department, it'd either be marketing or possibly night maintenance.

I would be in the costumes department. I know our park has fans inside them. You can act like a total idiot and nobody has a clue who you are.

I did halloween costumes at my park in Octomber and it really fun untill you get someone who decides to punch you in the nose because they don't think your real. Which unfortunly happened one year to a poor girl. That or you get the teenage guys who act all tough while there girlfriend is running top speed down the midway. Its sometimes really hard not to laugh. Espcieally when you scare someone so much they fall on there ass.

I spent four years working in rides and, while I"m taking a year off this year, I'm planning to return to my park as an emergency medical responder.

oh...and a hundred posts in two years...apparently I need to say a little bit more!

well i was kenny the kangaroo in the parade at kennywood and i didn't like it one bit. it was way too big and way too hot in that thing. i did it for 3 days and i swear i lost like 10 pounds from sweating so much. after that i was fiona from shrek a few times, a butter fly, a fairy and momma bear. those were a lot cooler than that kangaroo.

^ If you work at Kennywood...Does the job take a lot out of your summer, because I was actually thinking of applying there but my friends say its not that fun to work there.

If I worked at an amusment park, I'd like to work on rides or games. Definetly couldn't do the sweeping or cleaning of eating areas.

I am a ride op but I did games for 2 or 3 days last year and it was pretty interesting, so that's where I'd be if not for rides.

it probably depends on where you work and how your crew is. i had a lot of fun working at kennywood. i was in kiddielnad (land of the devil children) but it was still fun. sometimes i would go and extra out in the big park at different rides if they needed an extra to help out. if your a minor you get at least 2 days off a week and if your not, you get like 1 day off a week. thats not bad cause you can make a lot of money if you get enough hours. And your bonus at the end of the season gets bigger with the more hours you work. And if your friend didn't have fun, they must not have had a fun crew. you have to make it fun. and besides if you want a day off you can request the day you want off before the scheduel is out, and they allow you to request up to 10 days vacation time. you have to get it approved though. And you get into the park free anytime. Cheaper food in the employee cafe and discount tickets for your friends. You can't forget all that stuff. and if you work during fright nights, the pay goes up i think ( i forgot how much it was though) but working during Phantom Fright Nights is always fun. I worked in the cemetery scaring the ******* out of people. You should just try it for a summer and see what its like before you judge by what your friend is saying.

Oh yeah there are also ways to make a little extra money, you know how kennywood has parades, well to get out of working in your department for a few hours, you can sign up for the parades they have. i think its like a few dollars each time you are in the parade. I was in the Fall Fantasy parade. It was fun, i got out of kiddieland once again. it's like a little break for the day you just have to walk and wave at people.

and one more thing, kennywood always be havin game days where they play softball or flag football or deck hockey. Supervisors against employees and there are prizes and contests. And they have grove parties in the grove area of kennywood for employees. i didn't go to any but i hear they are kind of fun. something to do after park hours.

I don't know if I would work at my park if I couldn't be in rides, it seems like I could do every other job avliable at other places (closer to home too, not that I mind driving 30-45 minutes to work)
