I know the feeling PGH, I worked in Kiddieland some last year and lets say it was less then fun. Especially when the kids press the sirens the entire ride. But the good thing my park does is have a large section of rides and moves your around on them all day. So you may be at Flying Elephants for a few hours, but then you'll get to operate the Wildcat coaster later in the day. By the end of a full day you could have operated 6 or more different rides.

As for saying ride speechs, I love em, especially on coasters. I'll try and pump the train full of energy before they leave and have them go crazy when they return. And I hope my park never goes to automated recordings like some of the bigger parks have done....but thats for another topic.

in k-land we rotate every 45 minutes. out in the big park they rotate every 30 minutes. i don't see how you can be at 1 ride for a COUPLE hours. Thats torture. I hated it when people started rotation even 5 minutes late or when people took too long to rotate. usually if someone else was with me at my ride, i would start the rotation cause i can't stand waiting. there are 14 kiddieland rides but it's split in half (front and back) i was usually in the front most of the year. Thats the worst part. There's not many trees in the front so the sun is beatin on you all day. The rides in the front can seat way more than the back rides. And thats the first place people go to. I would be happy when i worked in the back cause it was nice and cool back there and there are not as many seats on the rides. I'm glad there ain't nosirens on any rides cause i would go crazy lol.

I'm so glad that my ride has the automated speech because I would not want to talk on the mic every time a train parks into the station. It's already bad enough we say "All Clear" and tell people to hop off the hand rails, and rarely I tell people stop smoking in line. Well then again I do get annoyed of the automated spiel the guest be repeating it ugh! I hate it but its better than talking every 2 mins=]

oh really. I gotta go up there on the 22nd for training at the racer/jackrabbit. I alreay know how to run the racer, I learned last summer. All i gotta do is learn the rabbit and i'm done. And how to close each ride. Thats basically it. Kiddieland is super easy. Most of the rides are all the same. (safety, deadman, start) you'll understand when you get there. If your in the front the ride everyone hates is the Mini-E (well there's a new name now but thats what everyone will probably still call it). Its the helicopter/spaceship ride. And if your in the back the lil phantom is the worse ride to run cause it's super hot there. The pounce bounce in the front is also really hot. Everyone hates working in the front so if you get kiddieland back don't trade with no one. Theres way more trees back there and not as many seats on each ride. So basically it's a lot easier in the back. I worked in the front and it was HELL!! lol i would work in the back sometimes if they needed an extra person back there.
