Who has already started???

who has already started their job at an amusement park? How is the season so far? Do you have any good stories to tell? And if you have not started, when is your first day? My first day is May 6th. I can't wait. I gotta go in next friday, saturday, and sunday for training though.

Carowinds your park is so different from mines (PKD) why do you say"clear, all clear, clear" My park we just say "all clear" well I just want to say TOP GUN is the far most best coaster I been on!

We don't say cler 3 times. Just once.

The driver says all clear then we say clear. Thats it.

At Six Flags, we say, "Atten' one, two, tree rready, train ih cler, ready fo dispatch". So actually no one knows what we say. I'm working merchandise on most days in summer, which is nice because I get 3-4 hours of time per day to ride (line cutting a three-hour line on Deja Vu; I can hardly wait)

I see, well last time I went was year 2003 all roller coaster operators said it when me and my co workers were there. We were like what the heck lol. So when I finally came back from Carowinds I was like hmmm I should say it on the mic"clear, all clear, clear" I only said it once lol, My supervisor gave me a "funny look" so I just said"all clear" pretty funny lol

We also refer to the guest riding and in line as cadets.

Sometimes the driver says attendents ready, then we say clear.

When the trains fly over the station we say "Shark/Mavrick has cleared the tower".

Had the interview. Just waiting for the time frames to work out. I figure I'll probably be working at my "local" park within 3 or 4 weeks.

Well, if you look at my location, I've a good feeling that you'll be able to figure it out. Only one real park that people know about here without having to take a 70-120 minute drive.

My park (Lake Compounce) opens May 14th, which is such a long wait. This season I'm gonna be an Assistant Coach (like an assistant team leader) for the Wildcat Team which has 8 rides. Really looking forward to the season which is going to be my 5th, which is hard to believe.

well the first year you don't. they put you somewhere and just hope for the best. I tried to get out of kiddieland last year (it was my first year) I put my name on the transfer list and they never got to me. I was like number 30 lol. But then when i got my call back letter in the mail in january there was a spot asking if we wanna transfer and i put down racer and jack rabbit crew since i extra'd there a lot last summer and i learned how to run the racer already. So they transfered me there. But usually if you put your name on the tranfer list during the summer and you get picked, they just put you on a crew (you can't tell them where you wanna go unless that particular crew needs another person.

wow when I first started Kings Dominion I did not know how the ride system work. I thought they put you where ever they need you. When we started training they asked me What ride do you want "I WAS SHOCKED!" I quickly answered Volcano then thats where I went I was so happy:d I can never picture my self working at kidzville or some kiddie ride. Even though I thought about tranfering to "Scooby doo hunted mansion" I like working at big attraction I like handling stress and things like that.

I already started. CP has been paying the bills.

It feels so good to be back. I absolutely love the time before opening day. Its stressful the amount of work that has to get done before the set time limit of May 7th, but its even more rewarding when you see families and people having the greatest times of their lives knowing how much hard work has been put into making it happen.

I look foward to seeing fellow coaster enthusiast at America's Roller Coast this summer.

I have a feeling this summer going to be worst than any summer we have a new attraction and new things. I dont know bout the other parks but I know for sure on Saturdays my ride is always jammed pack! atleast 2 hour wait on a saturday. Thats not it though when they have concerts and things like that That adds another hour. I just wanted to say I love my job being a ride operator Its's stressful at time but hey I could quit any time but thats crazy I would never lol.

Not to get off topic or anything but I wanted to know when you work at your ride do you always have one assoctiate "rookie" that does not follow or understand any of the rules and have gotten a safety violation? I look out for them what about you guys
