I don't think anybody has called the Mini-E the right name yet. Not even the new guys.

Hellevator...they didn't have a team leader that night and needed someone to run breaks. Since then I have now been certified on about 35 rides.

My First Ride

My theme park career began over a month ago on a Friday night on the Eruption (S&S Thrillshot) at Frontier City, the tallest thrill ride in Oklahoma. Normally, I would be working the milder family rides (area one), but on my first day on the job the park was open for high school groups, so the staffing was shifted more towards the major rides and thrill rides and I was moved to the Eruption for the night.

I was the loader and my co-operater Jennifer was working the panel. I was trained by both of the area five leads as the loader at the start of the evening and left me to the ride after I was officially certified to operate. It took me the better part of the first hour to get the handle in the operating the ride and thankfully my co-operator was extremely helpful in getting me used to the cycles; she very much helped me fit right in. After the first hour, I felt as comfortable as if I had done this a long time.

The best part of operating the Eruption, especially as a loader, was the interaction with the guests waiting in line and on the ride; I think that alone would have made it very worthwhile. It goes down as one of the memorable nights of my life and perhaps the best night in recent years. Although I'm stationed in area one, I shall look forward to many more times I'll hopefully be spending on the ride that started it all for me.

We're going to try to hit Indiana Beach before Coastermania. In fact, we're looking to go this weekend. As long as I go to IB first, there's no question what I will ride first- Cornball Express. Gotta make sure they didn't screw it up when they retracked it over the winter.

If I don't get to IB before Coastermania, then MF or TTD will be first.

Also, I can't wait to try out MaxAir

On a side note, you all had very good hospitality for us at SFKK this week while we came to help you all! Thanks a bunch!
